Miracle-Gro 24-8-16 All Purpose...Thoughts ?

Just wondering what you all had to say about Miracle-Gro All Purpose fertilizer...was looking for the highest nitrogen content for vegging and this is the highest home depot had...24%...anyways any thoughts and comments are appreciated thanks

Ur gonna have alot of ppl on here tell u that MG is bullshit and its the worst stuff u can use. Just a heads up.
But i can tell u from experience it works, u jus have to be extremely careful not to burn ur girls. U def dont need to give it to the in the first 2 wks. To keep it simple start at 1/4 strength and move up from there to find out what works best for ur girls.

most growers do not advise usage of miracle grow for cannabis plants, and some really like to use it. Personally I save it for my flowers :p

If you are stuck on MG my advice would be to ignore the hate against it and focus on who will actually help you out. Don't let others discourage you !!

uhm no offense (seriously no offense ) but this advice fyi is coming from someone who hasnt even grown an MJ plant yet and wants to grow one and leave it alone for months and not check it

i wouldnt really take his advice.

Sunni honestly can you stop being so childish? It doesn't take a genius to grow let alone notice the constant hatred towards Miracle Grow.

you can see from my first post i was neither in different towards MG i said some say no to it and some use it.
so i dont have any constant hatred to MG.

I would step down a notch and get the liquid which is 12-4-8.

It works great with veggies. But I noticed this year. Organic stuff like bat shit and fish emulsion make the shit explode! My tomatos do like miracle gro tho.

I know alot of people have a hate on for MG products...it wasn't my first choice...I live on a smaller island with one nursery on it...not into buying grow products that close to home...everyone knows everyone kinda deal...so I was on the mainland today and the grow store there was closed by that time, Home Depot or Canadian Tire were my only choices...the selection wasn't that great...I plan to buy some higher quality nutes recomended by the grow store...opinions on feeding the plants the MG and then switching to something better ?

canadian tire has WAY more than MG dont even I was just there the other day and i live in a SMALL SMALL town. try looking for JOBES organics fert spikes.

Hey Sunni could u help Frank out with soil supplements he could get from Canadian tire so he wont have to use such strong nutes.
I completely understand ur take... u just wouldnt recomend MG b/c of all of the different feeding methods you have come along. Same here & its cool that u didnt shoot him down b/c when i was new thats what i started with and a mod tried to shoot me down.

i didnt shoot him down at all, not sure where you got that from i even gave him a thing to look for a canadian tire...

I used MG this year, because I found a GSC at my dispensary and couldn't resist growing, despite being totally unprepared to bring her home. My GCS Girl was fine with 2 doses of MG Pour and Feed and later one application of MG Time Release...but then I think I added another Time Release dose to soon, because now she looks like I ODed her on nitrogen a little bit. Hopefully the rain tonight and tomorrow helps flush out some of the excess and she gets back to normal.

1/4tsp per gallon every watering until two weeks into flower. Then switch to bloom nutes.

Don't go for the highest NPK ratio you can find... More isn't necessarily better. People here piss on miracle grow and most days i'm one of them. If you decide to use MG start SMALL and work up. My botanicare is like 2-4-3 or something and works better than anything i've used so far.
I don't want your next post to be pics of yellow leaves curled up. Take it easy homie! RIU is full of great people who will help you become an expert in no time!

The #1 mistake new growers make is too much nutes. Best advice, with whatever product you use: small amounts at first, look at your plant, see how it is responding, and always ask a lot of questions to other growers. I have burned a few plants in my day and MG was what I burned them with. I use organic ferts now and they are not as harsh on plants at chemical ferts so there is less chance of problems. I would recommend organics if you can get your hands on them. They have come a long way and they can bring out the best in your plants.

I use MG 18-21-18 Tomato Food. Worked fine last year, it'll work fine this year IMO. Just ease your plants into the feeding regime, 1/3 strength, 1/2 strength, full strength. Watch how they react and you should be fine, I personally would have chose something with a little more phosphorus in it personally but that's me... Nice to see another BC grower around, welcome aboard.
