minimum temperature when the lights are off?

Recently moved my operation to a shed in Northern California. I would like to run the lights during the day so i dont have to worry about light leaks at night but i am concerned with the temperature. It stays near 80 ish when the lights are on but when they are off it seems like the temperature drops much colder, near the temperature that it is outside. but i am not sure what the temp is supposed to be at. Everything i read talks about the temperature while the lights are on but no one mentions temps when lights are off. My concern is that the temps are going to drop as low as like the 40's, possibly even lower. any insight?

Those low temps will slow growth but they can survive and not thrive in the cold. I have read that Frost is the killer.

anything below 45F is not going to well.......stay above 60F for better results. better yet, how do u feel outside in 45F weather? bundled up? still cold....do you move fast in that weather. nope! so dont expect ur plant to grow fast either...

Its not going to kill them, it is said 10 degree temp drop from day to night is ideal however...80F down to 40F I dont know it seems they could go into shock, id bet they grow really slow.

only frost can really kill and some strains are able to actually survive a few frosts or so....

you need to control your temps, add some ventilation, and install a heater or when summer comes around the plants are gonna be burning up in there.

im in a shed in cali as well. I had to get a heater for lights off. My temps get 40/50's also. My lights out at nite also. Good luck!
