I'm looking for a mini-split a/c and of course, there are many manufacturers, from LG, Mitsubishi to a bunch of generic companies.

Can anyone provide some guidance? What have you personally used?

THANKS!

Yes I am actually an HVAC tech. We are a Carrier/Bryant dealer and we just recently installed two carrier mini split systems. They operate really well. How many square feet are you looking to cool ? You might want to consider a window unit if it’s not too many square feet. Much much cheaper alternative!

mitsubishi p-series mini split with an ultra low ambient kit so it can run in the winter even if it gets down to -40. that way you can run your sealed room all year round.

I recommend Mr Cool. They have diy kits that are relatively simple to install yourself and been reliable so far (about 1 year).

Premium inverter from Home Depot for $900 works great in my office for the last 4 years. Only had to clean the blower wheel once.Has heat and ac works great for the price for 150 square feet. Easy to install.
