MINI SOG question (need advise)

ive got a 70w HPS and a couple 23w CFL's

how many plant could a do SOG style,


or would i be better off using the SCrOG technique? my goal is to get around an oz. from this grow.. need advise quick by the wayy

i would get a bigger light

well man, honestly, these lights are going to be given to me for this grow, and the seeds, all i have to do is buy nutes and soil and a couple minor things
i was thinkin maybe 4 CFL's and a 70w HPS to grow maybe 3-4 small plants
if i get 25g ill be happy, or would it be better to grow 1 bigger plant???

I can get 25g's off of cfl's. I suck.Easy. You can to. More is what you should aim for with what you have. How big is your grow area? If you can get thatlight close enough, you can get yourself a real grow. I would put the 70w right in the middle, and then the cfl's at the corners. I would also go get bigger cfl's. 43 or 65w. Lowes and menards. Do you have any of it set up?

one of my friends is doin a lil sea of green with a 70w HPS and 2 cfl's hes about 5 weeks into flowering, when hes done, hes gunna let me use his HPS for my grow.
ive got about 4' high, 2' wide, and about 3' long, i was thinking about a scrog instead, would i be better off? and ive got about 5 23w CFL's laying around the house, this grow wont cost me maybe $50 at the MOST, only thing about a SCrOG is im not to sure on how to weave the plant and all to get the canopy even

Are you going from seed or clone? If you had that are you could possibly get a few ounces with a sog setup. I only have 5x3x4 and i am shooting for at least 12 ounces is a sog. I am using a 1000w mh though. When i was using cfl's I was getting an ounce or two off nontrimmed 1.5 ft plants in the grow area.

im going to be using seeds, my friend has this strain that he breeds its chronic and something else i forget the name. but i only have maybe enough room for like 4 CFL's, and that 70w HPS. and i wanna get as much as possible with what ive got, either want to do a sog and scrog.
i think i could pull off a small scrog with what a have, a 70w hps gives off arouind 6000 lumens, and the cfl's make it a better coverage, since lumens dont add, whats my best bet for this grow a little sog or scrog??

i would say that a scrog would improve your yeild with less plants if left to veg properly in the screen. you could hang the hps right over the screen with the cfls at the corners.

i dont see how you could really benifit from sog with only a 70hps. seems like there wouldnt be much of a "sea" that the light could cover.

yeah thats what i thought, but how can i get the plants to fill out the screen???

lol it would be more like a "puddle of green"
so im going to do a scrog with 2 plants, maybe take up a 1.5 sq. ft screen.

im just needing help now with how to fill out the screen and get the canopy even, not sure how you do that.

there is a good scrog article in the faq's

top, fim, lst...do anything you can to promote branch growth and weave that shit around the screen.

i have 4 plants under a screen thats 10 inches above the soil.
3 are finally poking through the screen but not enough to weave anything.
1 runt still a good 3 inches under the screen.

problems im facing with scrog
screen makes it difficult to get in there and do shit.
once i weave these bitches around, guaranteed at least one male, so ill have to carefully cut the bastard out and have a empty space in my screen.

yeah once flowering, they are going to get thicker and all, harder to water and everything, and like you said, proosibillity of males, so it can be a pain in the ass..
i was readin up on micro grows on ICMAG.com, i think ive got it figured out, this is the setup im going for :

closet ( about 2ft tall, and 2' deep)
4-6 42w CFL's
and a 70w HPS,
doing a "puddle of green" lol grow maybe 5-6 plants flowered at 3'' tall
( in 20oz. cups)
my goal is around an OZ. to 2 .OZ's every harvest

ive got a local breed strain for its very short height and potency
im pretty sure its blueberry and bigbud breed over a couple years...
this should be very fun
