Good luck w/ the hydro!
Thanks! I'm doing a simple set up to get my feet wet. I am already wanting to find a system that utilizes my 50 gal water reservoirs, and potentially eliminate my hand watering of multiple pots, but I figured this would be a good start. Plus I have a bunch of Veg Bloom that needs used up.

Those both seem like good options. Once I am finished with the first trial run, that will probably be the direction I will go. I don't own a Ph pen currently so I'm thinking of getting one today. It seems like that will be an essential tool for this project...
Or you can run Advanced Nutrients and bypass having to deal with pH.

Really? That sounds great to me. I am going to hit the hydo store today, and I just checked my tubs of Veg Bloom and they are trash. I must have gotten moisture in them at some point. Maybe I'll skip the pen, and put the money towards the AN. I've seen many breeders/growers I respect, have good results with that stuff. Which ones would you recommend? I'm not opposed to spending a couple extra bucks either, even though I know a lot of people swear that additives are snake oil.

For base nutes, you can use their Sensi Bloom A & B (one bottle of each) for the entire grow. Any kind of Cal Mag should get you through. The amount or lack of additives that you'll want is based on your choice of the inclusion of beneficial bacteria or if you want to run a sterile system. The additives will cost a lot more than running a sterile system and it's probably best if you read up on that. Here's a thread that I started a few months back when I was trying to get a handle on the +'s and -'s of bennies vs. sterile. It's a good place to start. If you do wind up running AN with bennnies, you'll want to use either one (or all) of the following bennie products/ Tarantula, Pirahna or Voodoo Juice. I chose to use their Tarantula for bennies, Carboload to feed them, and SensiZyme which I didn't need but decided to use it anyway in order to ensure that the roots/res would stay in tip top shape. If need be, I can share the feed schedules that I've come up with. I've got one made up for running sterile or with bennies. I have not yet run this system sterile but I'm pretty confident that what I came up with will work as it mirrors the bennie schedule that I'm using now with success.

So I ended up getting the pieces to run another bucket, and decided to run the Heavy 16 that I already have. I grabbed a PH pen only to discover my feed comes out to around 6 so I didn't bother adjusting. I selected and up-potted this 87 Limepop x Palm Beach Sour Apple Diesel and after 1 day in the bucket she's already starting to get settled. I'm stoked to see how this run goes.

I've already posted some of these pics in the Exotic Genetix thread, but here goes my selected keeper of Vanilla Gorilla, in a few different stages. She's puts out some fire cookie nugs and is going to be the base of my first breeding project. Earlier harvested she has an amazing minty, fruity, gelato like smell, and left to go 9 weeks develops some serious gas.

I would! Ak seems like a good classic strain to use.

Amazing work!

Wowzers chunking out and smells like gassy fruity gelatowowzers1.jpg

87 Limepop x Palm Beach Sour Apple Diesel is starting to smell really really good, like sour limes, and has some red/purple color coming through. I'm pretty excited about this one, and knocked up her lowers with some pollen from a raunchy star stomper male
