For one i dont think the metre reader would snitch because lets face it, you would have to be a pretty big fuckin pain in the arse to finish a days work and then have time, energy and will to uphold the ridiculus law and make a formal complaint. And for second how much time and resources and paperwork would the police have to go through to first of all obtain a warrant and then send the manpower to investigate/arrest? Would it be worth it to them over 3 little plants? (Little as in they are 3 weeks old grown mainly under cfl's) so how big could they really be?? Police might be corrupt and arseholes but im sure as shit they would do anything to get around all the paperwork and red tape and all other shit involved over 3 measly plants. They have bigger fish to fry. Other busts to make that make them look like they are actually doing the community a service. Dont worry man Youll be right. Just keep em inside and dont to anythink to excite the police.

Police don't need to go to a judge for a warrant as long as this piece of work is around.. Legally obtained warrant = all evidence admissible = no laughing juries (expect at your stupidity for getting caught by a meter reader).

"we got a call there were plants growing"
"we went to the house to check up"
"we smelled weed(giving probable cause to search WITHOUT a warrant"

Oh so ppl who get caught with pounds in their car when the search stemmed from a simple traffic violation only paid 20/50/100,000 to lawyers only to be found guilty because what? The lawyers didnt know their clients constitutional rights? Give me a break. I've had drugs planted in my car by the police before I was even 18. I live in the realistic world where you rights dont mean shit!

Cops have ways of legally getting what they want. If you refuse a search of your car, they call out a drug dog. If the dog doesn't pick up on anything, the handler will trigger the dog to alert near the door handle in front of other cops and a dashcam (the trigger can be a quick whisper or a few finger snaps, nobody can prove it). Then they have legal authority to search whatever they want and the science of drug sniffing dogs can't be disproven in court. There is no way for you to prove that there wasn't residue on whatever the dog alerts to.

They'll also scope you out. Got a long criminal record? They know you're not a sucker and up their game a bit. In school on a scholorship? They know you'll be nervous and will cooperate.

Never Get Busted Again is a decent video narrated by a retired cop who exposes all their tricks and the science behind them. Most of it is common sense but there were a few gems in there. Such as how to package drugs for transport and how dog handlers work their dogs, etc. He charges money for it but ... you know

you should be fine, they are doing their job the last thing they want is more work. When i was getting Direct Tv installed the technician saw a pound in my closet and just acted as if he never saw it. Secondly, I would have asked him.. "did you see anything?" If he says yea, then ask him if he smokes... if he answers yes, then take the conversation from there.

I've had cops smell marijuana in my car that I never smoked in. That I also smoked cigarettes and cigars in. And my lawyer couldn't get everything thrown out. The rights you have are directly proportional to what you can afford to drop on a lawyer.
I don't think I'd have the balls to keep the plants. I'd put little Japanese maples where they were and hold off on growing for a few months.

I second this..Sounds like a #1 option...move stuff inside,..blinds closed or whatever so no one can claim they saw something..(cops)...get same amount of small japanese maples and configure them the same look, withs style, pots, ..etc..or whatever the case may be...That shoots down any probable cause..Cops come.." hey we wanna see your 3 or 10 or 20 or however many u have..) say sure..show them the back yard lol...They would probably think twice about coming back in the future...(If you follow the golden rules..No Sell, No Tell, and No Smell.. shoot..smoke ya one and sleep excellent tonight..Don't sweat it man..Just be smart on your end..Read the forums...everything you could possibly find..including this type scenario..Good luck with the grow my friend!

I have read that meter readers are trained to be on the lookout for things like window venting, smell of marijuana / ozone generators, blocked out windows, light leaks, etc. Now this may just be someone who is a bit paranoid, but I would rather be paranoid and safe than lax and in trouble. I suggest ditching the plants, but if you're gonna keep em do the Japanese Maple thing. At least then if you get busted your lawyer might get the probable cause they used to gain the warrant thrown out. Best of luck bro.
