Radio Shack has them for under $20

$13 at Radio Shack




OR get a eye loupe they use for looking at 35mm slides for cheap



or get a jewelers loupe for about $15 to $20

ebey ahs cheap ones for $7 to $10,

get a lighted one.

By all means get a real microscope on ebay. Search under vintage microscopes and used microscopes. You'll see a wide range but look for Bausch and Lomb and Tasco from the 50s and 60s. These will be used high school and college scopes and most were well cared for. I just got a Tasco for $15 that is like new. The difference is astounding compared to using a pocket microscope or loupe.

I mean I can see a whole freakin herd of trichs in one field of view, and you can see clear, cloudy and amber at the same time. Awesome. Even if I paid $100 for mine it was one of the best investments I ever made. Ask the seller specifically if it is working correctly and if it needs anything.

Don't buy one for £5.99 (10 bucks). They are just plastic tubes with lights on that should come wrapped in xmas paper with a snapper in!
My personal experience tells me this! I am trying again with a realistic budget of around £25.00.

haha if u go to radio shacks website and look at the reviews on there microscope 75 percent are from growers...
