micro growbox. when to flower?

aight so ive had these white widow darlings inside a cabinet measurig about 1.5ft squared x 3ft high. ive been using around 140 actual watts of CFL. and cuz of some previous hurdles, they are about 5-6 inches tall and round. im wondering when i should onset the flowering cycle. i keep hearing that ppl should flower once they reach about a foot. but if they triple in size i wont have enough space for my 2 plants. i was going to wait another week or 2 and see how they fair but maybe like 8-10 inches would be enough??? this is my first gow and im extremely satisfied ive gone this far. i have more seeds tho, i ordered from bcseedking.com and they came in a week from cross country. all i want to know is at what point should i start to flower.

What are the dimensions of the box?

And if its a indica diminant strain, flower when its about 2/5 or less of the height of the box.

If its sativa dominant, flower at 1/3 or less of the height of the box.

you can start flowering from seed, so it's entirely up to you when you want to start.. you dont have alot of space so keep em short and start.. imo. ..

i dont know if my whitewidow is indica or sativa dominant. but judging from the leaves i think its more indica. so by your figures, i should flower when they reach 2/5ths of my height, which is almost 3 ft. either way yor still telling me to flower once it reaches over a foot.

you think that at 7-8 inches ill get a good plant from that? i can try it out, i have more seeds to plant or hopefully if theyre female i can clone and try something else. but i dont want to waste my time if i flower now and get dick-all. i want to make sure i can atleast get something out of it.

I have a grow box similar in size as you and I typically start flowering at 7"-10" which will give me a plant at 16"-20" when finished flowering. Just to give you an idea about size but I am not growing WW but I am growing Purple Kush which is also a hybrid.

If your box is 36 inches you should start flowering at 7-8 inches. If your growing in soil u should have no problem staying within the box. If u go hydro I would top then first.

yea im growing in soil. thats what i figured, around 8 inches i should start flowering. you think ill be able to make an xmas harvest?

dependant on indica/satvia dominance/strain and generally i'd say 7-10 weeks most likely 9 sonot really any chance of xmas bud, mid jan if you started flowering now. I'm puttin my babies into 12/12 on sunday and hopeing for some b-day smoke(mid jan) but i think i will be cutting a few nugs early to make that happen plus i may have to quick dry them. Roughly 2mnths flowering. Hope that helps. WW nice strain i want to grow that some day, keep us updated.
