Michigan Restaurants

Is there anything better than smoking a bowl of your favorite bud, then sitting down to enjoy a nice meal at a great restaurant?

I friggin love trying new places to eat! What are some of your favorite places to eat in the mitten? Feel free to not only include your favorite spots, but also any of the dishes you order as well!

I'll start ....

Le Ting in Milford. I love me some Chinese food, and this is the best spot I've found in the Metro Detroit area. Their sushi is really good!

Addis Ababa in Plymouth. It's Ethiopian food. Sounds like an oxymoron, doesn't it? Give it a try if you're in the area .... it is VERY good! No dishes to order, just choose between the meat-eaters all you can eat option, or the all you can eat vegetarian option.

I've got more, but let's hear yours ....

This thread is about my Belly Growing, lol. Thanks Stow, just what I needed!

Ann Arbor: http://fritabatidos.com/menu.pdf
right off Main St at Washington
Unique Cuban Place

casual atmosphere... Bench seating w shared large tables. Everything is good here. Pork sandwiches, ask for the "loco" and they will stack an egg and french fries on yours... all on a live banana leaf for presentation. They also have special milkshakes, normal servings not jumbo american 3XL, which is perfect if you are having one of their rich entrees.

Nice Abe! I will definitely try that one! Ann Arbor has some really good spots.

Another good place in AA that is on the casual side with more of a "bar food" menu is The Arbor Brewing Company. Great food, and some really unique beers.

If you like Ethiopian and you live near AA, the Blue Nile is pretty good too. They're menu is identical to to Addis Ababa, but they're vegan, so they don't use any dairy so I find the dishes lacking in flavor a bit in comparison.

I gave up meat a few years back, so I don't partake in burgers any longer, but if you like a good burger the best one I've had is at a place called The Redcoat Tavern. I think it's in Royal Oak (on Woodward between 14 and 15 mile). HUGE burger, loaded up how you like it ..... melt in your mouth goodness!!

It's been awhile, but yeah Redcoat Tavern is def known for it's burgers... I use to order takeout from Siam Spicy Thai south down Woodward a few miles (across from cemetery) the medium hot will burn like hell, so I'd order the "mild-plus".

Blimpy Burgers in A2 is cool if still there. Been a few years since I went there.

Coney Island after a wake and bake.... Ham and cheese omelet with chilli cheese fries instead of hash browns. It does not get any better.

also during football season the Happy's song is always trapped in my head.

I love a greek omelet or gyro omelet from the coneys. Nothing like that up here. (That i know of)

Sad face. Yea I think coneys are a troll thing just pasties past the bridge for you guys. jk

I bet a coney in the U.P. would have banging business if in the right location.

Belle has said that atleast once a month for the last 8 years. lmao. There are absolutely more trolls up here in the UP than Yoopers. Not a doubt in my mind. We used to be a minority. lmao. I guess the sound of growing weed, less neighbors, great hunting and fishing sounds good to a lot of trolls. I love it, but I miss the city so much it is stupid. I am sure I will be between the two my entire life. If I am not growing 16 foot monsters in the mountains of northern cali. I think a coney and a Happys Pizza would rock up here. One dude tried a coney in Marquette, but it sucked balls and was double the price. lol. There used to be a few A & W close by, they do the job. But they closed. There is still one in Iron Mountain.
