The Michigan medical mj community is boycotting the Michigan Caregiver's Cup.
The organization heading the event ,The Michigan Marijuana Chamber of Commerce, does not have the best interest of patients or caregivers. Recent comments in the Ann Arbor news article

I can confirm that Preacher speaks truth.
This may be a sting operation and is promoted by people who are operatives of a Republican who wishes to crush caregivers rights in order to control and profit the market for our M.
The entire setup is illegal under our MM law and they have consulted with the DEA and the local leo supposedly to ensure no one gets busted! The purpose of the Doctors is to show overmedicated patients while doctors tell the media the patients can't be trusted to control their own dosages, etc.
And apparently the Republican was slated to annouce some a run for office in the midst of this circus presumably while promising to save the good people of Michigan from the MM menace, and all of the other "Reefer Madness" garbage.
The promoters have advocated making all caregivers grow in designated areas, inspection of grow rooms by leo and other local officials, and even made up a rape story featuring an evil young buck caregiver and an elderly woman patient as ancedotal evidence that caregivers need hyper regulating and to protect us patients.
Please do not attend this event if you support medical marijuana and/or an end to prohibition that includes a residents right to use their land to grow their own.
