Quick one... If someone had both an 8 bulb 42w cfl setup (336w) and a 250w MH setup, what would be better to use to flower with?
It'll make little difference. The lumens are about identical. Thanks for the responses. It appears that the cfl's are 6800k so it looks like the mh would be the way to go?
Personally I'd go with the CFL's given the wattage you suggest... but then I;'m a commited CFL grower.. and presently mighty baked on what they can produceQuick one... If someone had both an 8 bulb 42w cfl setup (336w) and a 250w MH setup, what would be better to use to flower with?
Depending on the T5's(VHO 100 lm/W)... they could stomp MH(80-90 lm/W) watt for watt. CFLs(65-75 lm/W) aren't nearly as efficient. T8's do pretty decent veg too(HO are over 90 lm/W).ok quick question for the 1000+ post guys in this room For vegging smaller clones maybe 18" tall should I use cfl's , t5's, or 400 watt mh. I have a 400 watt mh actually 2 but both need new bulbs and I have seen a friend have great success with t5's so what I was thinking is keeping the mother/s under the 400 watt and doing the clones under t5's or cfl's. So which should I do for the clones the other 400 watt mh, some t5's,or cfl's.I also have t8's laying around with fixtures if you think that would be better. Thanks in advance.
