MH to HPS Ballast Converstion Questions

Hi guys, just started my 2nd grow, first time Hydroponics. Last time I did soil with CFL all the way through. Worked but low yield. I have acquired 2 MH ballasts from an old shop of mine that I would like to switch over to HPS to save some money. I see that HPS just requires a igniter. Below is an image of the inside of the MH ballast which looks correct, my main question is, are the sockets the same for most Mh and HPS bulbs? Or will I need to look into a different socket to fit a HPS bulb, also is there any preferred igniters out there which people have used (don't really want to get a cheapo Chinese one or something and have my house burn down). Thanks guys! <- or maybe a nice cheap MH to HPS conversation bulb someone has found?IMG_20130930_122145_877.jpg I have 2 and these which are 250w and my own reflectors. So to put in $15 ignitor on both seems like a great way to get around couple hundred for a digital ballast that supports both. I also want to wire in a switch to flip between MH for veg and HPS flower.

Why not just buy a conversion bulb?
I know they make mh conversion bulbs to be used in an hps ballast, but I don't ever recall seeing an hps conversion bulb for a mh..
I could be wrong of course, just something I've never personally seen..
