Method for flushing out excess PK boosters

Simply pH your flush water to 6.8 and warm it to 75-78 degrees. Phosphorus is much more water soluble at this pH than it is at the 5.8-6.0 that Maximum Yield recommends for flushing. Just look at any nutrient soil solubility chart. At a pH of 5.8-6.0, phosphorus is in the red zone, meaning it's not very soluble.

Now I'll go into the long version of why I learned to do this. On my last grow I decided to try Elite 91 Flowers bloom booster instead of Big Bud and MOAB/Kushie Kush. It's a thick black liquid, but not as thick as Bloombastic, which is dark green.

Anyway, I used it at the recommended dosage from week 2-7. Then I taste-tested an unflushed bud. I could taste the PK, so knew I had to flush it out. Additionally, a few days after smoking that half eighth, I got a headache that wouldn't go away. It lasted a month! I was seriously worried.

Elite 91 Flowers uses what they call "Phosphite stacking technology." They say that phosphite can be directly absorbed by the plant, unlike regular phosphorus. Well, my theory is that it can also be directly absorbed by your brain tissue. My mom pointed out that wine drinkers have reported headaches from phosphates too.

So I did the high pH/high temp flush for 6 weeks. Now I can barely taste the PK and it doesn't give me a headache. Six weeks is a long flush, some of the purple plants lost flavor. Oh well, on to the next, better grow, and back to my usual PK boosters.

I have nothing against Elite 91, my friend loves their Myco Jordan, but maybe there's a reason I've never seen anyone else mention this Flowers product. I believe it can possibly cause headaches, therefore I personally wouldn't recommend it.
