my question is.......... how good would it be for flowering and how would i be able to put a diff. reflector on it

It'll do as good as any other 250 watt, and you'll need to remove all the peaces and find some hardware that will allow you to attach the light to the reflector of your choice..

MH bulbs will work in flowering, but not as well as a HPS bulb. You can probably engineer a new reflector, but you'll need a solder gun, some wiring and possibly a new socket.

would i be able to use that reflector and just funnel air in and out so its like a cool tube..........and how many plants do you think i can grow.............i grow with cfls so this would be new to me.........

You'll want a different reflector that turns the light sideways so more light radiates from it towards the plant.

The majority of light comes from the side of the bulb and using that reflector will waste light.

You can usually get 400w Phillips ANSI MH bulbs at Home Depot for $40. They also sell 250w and down..

My first setup had a bent-up whiteboard for a reflector with a simple 400w MH bulb from HD and some fairly shady looking magnetic ballast we found online. Simply put, you don't need to shell out tons of cash for a nice rig. It really worked out great.

Its called a Highbay light. Will work just fine. Remove the socket and hood. Add some wire, not over 10 ft, where you removed the socket. reattach socket to ther end of new wire. Add a cord being sure one of the wires you are attaching too is marked 125. Most highbay ballasts are multitap. Meaning they can perate on many different voltages. You can even wire in a 6 dollar igniter and fire hps bulbs also.

Sorry, had to edit some typos. reread hope it makes more sense.
Yes just splice the cord that comes with that batwing the ballast were the socket was removed. Remote ballast growlight.
