Hey Davy, id be more than happy to help guide you through your first grow. First you'll need to consider a couple of things.
Whats your enviroment like and Whats your budget? If you live in a climate that experiences extreme weather, outdoors is probably not for you, unless you can control the climate within the greenhouse. If temperatures are between 15 degrees Celsius and 27 degrees Celsius you should be good. As for budget, id recommend at least $250. This amount will get you high quality soil, pots, nutrients, ph adjusters and testers. Most of this cost will not be recuring, initial costs are always the highest. Depending on local prices this may be way off, I live in California where everything is stupid expensive.
Im not claiming to be the best grower on here but I do understand the fundementals of growing. At the end of the day its not about how much you spend or what brand you use, it comes down to whether or not you can optimize the nine cardinal parameters. ( CO2, temperature, humidity, light, wind, oxygen in the roots system, nutrients, water, and root-zone temperature) Some will need to spend more than others to achieve the same results solely based off their environment. If you'd like to learn more about these parameters give it a quick google search.
Keep in mind, there are many amazing growers on this site, but there's an equally amount of god awful ones who will tell you some outrageous shit. Im currently a student studying plant sciences and a firm believer that you should never take advice from somebody who starts off by saying "my buddy does/told me....". Don't listen to annectdotal bullshit, listen to the science.
Ps. If Jondamon is willing to take you under his wing, listen to him. He really seems to have his setup dialed in.
