Mega Newbie Nirvana Snow White and Chrystal Attempt

First off I have to say props to Nirvana for quality genetics, or I probably would be starting from scratch already.
Being eager, and stupid I still hadn't decided on which set up I was going to opt for but after recieving my seeds and a few other basics I was eager to germinate.
I placed two of each strain in cups of water over night before transfering to a folded paper towel in plastic ice cream container washed out. I placed this in a small cupboard uncovered and the following day was pleased to seed all seeds had opened,
after one more day I took a photo and realised I must plant asap.
01.jpg04.jpg02.jpg05.jpg03.jpg I sent someone to the store to pick me up some peat and vermiculite as I had been advised by a friend to go with this medium over rockwool and others , in brief to keep it natural. Unfortunately I recieved peat n mix a soil mixture instead, and decided to go ahead and planted them in a huditity dome tray, the next day my two snow whites had sprouted and I could see the seeds of the chrystalls popping the surface, forward 12 hours after adding more light and water the chrstal's have popped over an inch but leaves are still fully incased with seeds.
This is where I started to go really wrong, with anticipation and excitement, i would check them often and mist and mist and mist using tap water... I also elevated the tray as close to the light as possible. I believe this cooked one of my chystal's water leaves closed as one slowly opened, the other remained closed for a week! I never took photos as I was not proud of what I had done. After a week, one leaf finally broke through between the two leaves, and as gently as i could I pryed the water leaves open, all the while my snowwhites growth stunting completely, leaves turning dark green and water leaves hard and dry, I realised I had to do something. (There was even mould starting to appear on the edge of my tray, massive over watering, so ashamed).
So instead of transplanting into a hydroponic medium from this stage I just transplanted each strain into two pots, desperate to give my baby's the dryer medium they required and save them from the mould observed.
I currently have them under two 130w cfl's one 6500k one 14000k, which I think I will soon switch to another 6500k as the plants seem to lean towards it.
At the moment they seem to be recovering nicely but I realise now they are too close together, and the roots will soon be entangling.
Although its only been two weeks I am now going to have to transplant them again, ever so gently.
I have some coir pellets, could these help me at all? I wanted to switch all 4 from soil but am now thinking of keeping two in soil and trying to compare the results of two waterfarms or similar.
k should note I am only working with a 450mmx700mm cupboard, ventilation is going to be an issue, I realise but ideally i could have a shelf up the top for cloning and bottom for reservoir with still about 150mm height to work with. From this I expect to raise 2 mothers which I will clone for transfer to a 600w NFT system when the time arises and I can afford it.
Ok so I know I need to do something about the walls, mylar would be great, but any other advice on how I should proceed would be much appreciated. I'm thinking at the moment I best just transfer them to four larger pots, and if I just stick to the peat n mix for my mothers it might be my best option.

In the last picture you can kind of see the disfiguration, and where the leaves were stuck together is burnt it appears
So the blue pot is Chrystal the Marroon are my snow whites, looking much lighter than they did a few days ago.

Sorry for the long winded introduction, but thats me, a man of little words and long rambles.
Peace for now

They look fine to me. Sometimes the initial leaves can show that kind of "browning" from the seed casing they were enclosed in. The new growth looks heathly and green.

Good idea to separate the seedlings ASAP into individual pots. Mylar or even flat white paint works great for the reflectivity piece. Stay away from aluminum foil and mirrors as they create hot spots.

Good luck with your grow.

Thanks I am quite happy with how they've come along, the snow whites popped first but hardly grew at all, the leaves drooped and were really hard until I transplanted to dryer medium.
I am a little worried about stretching, i know its early, but how low can I keep my lights, at their tender age and all?
I have a 2ft 4 x 55w flouro tray as well but this didn't seem to help the plants only created extra heat, im not sure its heat rating but it was sold as a clone raiser :S I think it is best not to use this at all.

Yeah, you don't need the extra heat at this stage. Get them as close to the light as possible without burning the tops. Good luck!

Got some reflectors for my lights but need an adapter, turns out I already had one in the garage suitable, but yeah need an adapter to plug it in.
Will only have room for one reflector above the plants, might make this a 2500k lamp and have 2 reflectors hanging against either wall at 6700k.
The heat now that I have added mylar and made it more light proof is around 29-32 degrees C now so I'll need to improve ventilation before adding any more light.
If I get the ventilation right I also have a 400w MH/HPS available but I'm thinking the best idea would be to keep the cupboard for mothers and flouro only (so i dont need to drill holes in the roof or walls)
And getting a tent for any further exploits.
Any im sure none if this will be read anyway so heres some pics

I have been moving the plants positions so it is hard to follow any ones progress but the back and back left plants in the last two pics are the chrystal
Snow white 's growth was stunted a good week due to over watering while chrystal was not so affected but SW seems to be catching up now.
SW's leaves are quite alot fatter than Crys', esp the one in the top right, I'm thinking this might be stronger indican pheno.
So how long till i fin and begin to train a couple of these?

once you get to 5 nodes u can cut it on the above the second tru node so the suger leafs then ur two sets of real leafs and snip it right above there that will give u 4 main colas then once you get the 4 coming up u can cut those and get 8 heads or what ever you wanted to do but then once the new growth is coming back and growing out u can tie it them down and train them

29.jpg28.jpg22.jpg24.jpg26.jpg25.jpg27.jpg23.jpgThese photos were from the 21 of May, everything was going along nicely..

A week or so later I start to see some discolouration on the lowest early leaves and put this to over feeding...but then I start to notice signs of roots at the holes on my pots and one plant even starting to breach the surface of the soil. I had been using 200mm or 7.8inch pots. You can see the roots starting to push through here, I need to get bigger pots to transplant.

The following photo shows the one plant i have transplanted roots before being replanted
ROOT.jpg

After I transplanted her into a 250mm or 10inch pot she was quite flacid so I decided to start to LST her.
This is my un fimmed or topped Snow white.
SW1LSTa.jpgSW1LSTc.jpgSW1LSTb.jpg

I have left one chrystal manipulated as yet. The SW and CRYS i attempted FIMming two weeks ago. The snow white appears to have worked, tho the fourth branch is taking some more time to develop than the other three, however i seemed to have just topped this CRYS at this stage noting only two branches so far..

I raised the lights considerably when i recently adapted a hood to hold two bulbs and I really wouldn't mind some stretching at this stage as the leaves and branches are getting tangled in each other at the growth rate. I am started to have issues with space in my small closet already.

Its already starting to smell quite pleasant.

I've added a DNA fruit auto freebee so space really is limited now.
Shes in a 250mm pot straight away,
heres a photo of her Saturday after planting and then this morning.

Thats all for now, some photos prob got mixed up, I get a bit confused which girl is which sometimes, I have some planter labels ready if it becomes an issue:blsmoke:

Thanks, I had an accident with two of my plants, one of each strain trying to improve lighting without the best ventilation and cooked the tops, so the Chrystal that hadn't been fimmed or anything got burnt quite badly, I didn't take photos out of sheer shame.
They are starting to come back well now but I am quickly running out of room in my cupboard

I think my SW that hasn't been burnt is starting to preflower?
SW07-06.jpgSWpre07-06b.jpgSWpre07-06.jpg
I'm hoping thats not balls on the second pic, I'm doubtful as I'm still running on 20/4 light schedule to suit my Auto.
But space is getting an issue and i need to get a tent and my 400w mh/hps running asap.
I had planned on getting a couple of mothers from the get go and cloning but as I haven't myself up properly now im pretty keen on flowering these and starting again.
I now also have Aurora Indica and Black Jack from Nirvana, and Greenhouse seeds Super Lemon Haze with one each of Dinafem's Blue Widow, World of Seeds NY47 and NLxBig Bud attitude freebee's to choose from on my next germ.
I wanna establish a couple of mothers for september outdoor down here so it will be good to free up my closet...it really isn't ideal anyway but with limited budget its doing the job.
