Insect frass is ideal for chitin and a little N. I use shrimp, crab, crayfish and lobster dry ammendments in my soil and compost. Justbdepends on what I have accumulated on hand. I did ferment some raw shrimps shells in the past for a liquid chitin. That was back when I ran 20gallon fabric pots. I had alot of leechate so I burned through the liquid chitin. Since I went with the 4x8 bed I use little of any liquid ferment. Shit seems to stay in the bed. I never have runoff. Amino acids, fulvic acid, SST and aloe are really all I add, and not very often. Occasionally some addittional sulfur in the form of epson salts.

1/2 cup / 1.5 cuft seems to do the trick. It may be a bit heavy but that was back when I first formulated the soil. I add a very little bit to any AACT I bree. Seems to help get the foam quickly.

Some strains have more noticeable growth spurts in flower where it seems like they stalled or slowed down, but then boom they throw more flowers.
I've grown other strains that don't seem to have spurts, they just go full speed. If they look healthy and the leaves are nice I let it slide and wait to see what they do. Less is more with organics and you can always add more if need be. Once it's in the soil tho, that's not so easy to fix. But i tend to grow heavy feeders so if I do get a sensitive one, I'll just let it burn and get what I can from it. It's virtually impossible to care for individual plants in a bed. They all get the same.

I've been playing with the idea of making my own lights. I am pretty handy and I have all the tools already and a work shop with alot of equipment. Fabricating the frame and assembly of components would be very convenient for me. You got any suggestions on a parts list and sourcing.
Yes man can hook ya up with a really easy guide and fill ya in on weeks of research fast I spent 2grand on hlg r spec then built my leds for less than 800 and they smashed them to shit ‘ they run so cool u could eat ice cream off em what side of the pond u on
The frame can be as genius as you want I ordered a 2x4 aluminium sheet cut out strips every 2 leds and then put L frame on for support ‘.one dude on the led forum did 600w on a celotex panel another used a baking tray haha just to show what little it took and had it lying around ofc
Once u get the hang of it u won’t believe how easy it is I’ll drop you a message tomorrow when I’m on the pc ,havin a Netflix spliff and melt atm haha

gonna update my pics tomorrow will show ya where am at see what ideas ya got to improve my brix and shit not a lot here talk about that I’ve just started getting into it watching some doc on YouTube from the notill regen on about it repelling bugs feel my grow needs a kick

I think I’ve more than enough ca after the carbonate exposure and ph rise atm so getting soil test buttill then I’m shooting blank it’s 4 week wait
I use crab and oyster when I can be arsed to grind it crabs easy but oyster fuck me
Isn’t Epsom just magnesium sulphate , where elemental sulphur or gypsum should be more readily available source of sulphur right ? At 23% Bus also has ca
epsom is 13 % and mg
Am I right that if you have to much ca it can be balanced with mg?
mg I’ve seems be sensitive very so if I go too much am damned if I’m to less am damned and it can happen from lack or too much of or ph swings , after my composts I’d doubt mg was deficient but I could be wrong ha

here smy lights plants are 3wk ago almost here so don’t judge haha lights can be customed to 1 ft panels and a few of em or I couldn’t be arsed with so many adjustments so I did 2 big panels 2x4 the size is quite ok to move to be fair and can get 6inch off canopy with no burns Dim to 10% if needed for baby’s too

I'm all about spending money if it's the most for my dollar. 800 is a drop in a barrel if it will blow away any commercial system.
I'm on the Ontario/ Wisconsin border. So a nice and cool running system would really help in the summer when my average day temps can hit upper 90's before breaking out the portable ac, and that's from only 3 led panels in a 4x8

Yes gypsum has more than enough elemental sulfur and a shit load of calcium. But I don't use alot of it and it really only use gypsum for its ability to help reduce salt accumulation.
However too much calcium will inhibit the uptake and availability of potassium.
In my soil because it's mostly coco, I add Magnesium back because as the coco decomposes it adds potassium. With all the calcium sources I have and the additional release of k I need to keep an eye on Magnesium. Sulfur is highly overlooked by alot of growers. It is very important and I like to consider it a secondary just as you would cal/mag. It is paired with nearly every element needed by cannabis for metabolic functions.

Lights look damn nice my guy!! Plants look good too.

Hell yeah dude, get back up with me. I want to pick your brain on those lights!!

I'm no master grower by any means, but I'd be more than happy to help anyway I could. Just let me know.
