[FONT=Verdana, Times New Roman, Times, Serif]Kingman Mayor John Salem's 19-year-old son and his roommate have been charged with growing marijuana.

Trent Salem and Brandon Militello, also 19, were arrested Friday after officials with the Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team served a search warrant at a home shared by the teens in the 3600 block of Wells Street.

Both Salem and Militello hold valid medical marijuana cards.

Under guidelines passed by the Arizona Department of Health Services, qualified patients are allowed to grow up to 12 plants and have 2½ ounces of pot.

Authorities said Salem and Militello had 60 plants in two rooms devoted solely to growing.

MAGNET Task Force Supervisor Jamie Clark described the setup as fairly elaborate and said the rooms had a ventilation system and a portable swamp cooler to control the humidity.

hehehehehe
I know the Mayor real well. He divorced his longtime old lady after he was elected. Then he started hitting bars and chasing hos. He gets reelected cause he is a likeable guy.

This is the second big bust recently. The owner of the only hydro store was busted for growing as well. I think he had just under 90 plants.

Heres the hydro bust
KINGMAN - The owner of a hydroponics store was arrested last week after police said they found marijuana plants growing at the store.

Kingman Police Capt. Rusty Cooper said detectives received information that George M. Carter, 66, of Kingman, was selling marijuana out of the 4 Seasons Hydroponics Supply store in the 500 block of Topeka Street. Police executed a search warrant at the business Wednesday afternoon and reportedly found marijuana, marijuana plants and assorted drug paraphernalia.

Cooper said a subsequent search warrant was served at Carter's residence in the 400 block of Riata Valley Road where additional marijuana and drug paraphernalia were reportedly located.

The store sold gardening supplies and was not licensed under medical regulations to sell marijuana.
