so after spending time setting up for the res change, ph/ppm/nutes/ blah blah blah, i changed the res and fried my plants.

after i changed the res, i checked on them the next morning and most big leaves had curled and gotten real dry. not yellow spots but massive curling.

basically i think that the 10-15-10 nutes i was using did it, although i only used half strength.

well ran to WW and checked out the GH "trio". noticed that their concentrations were closer to low-mid single digits.(0-1-5, 2-1-6, something like that.)

anyhow, i came home and immediately flushed with plain water(75ppm) and let run. did some research and left to go to store.

got the GH nutes and Hygrozyme.

i came home and changed res again to flush out and added recommended hygrozyme. has been running for about an hour.

how long should i run it for before res changing to fresh water and CORRECT nutrients?

Overnight?

another hour?

Mr. mass...

The numbers on the nutrients are NOT the determining factor of how strong they are.. but it is rather the RATIO of nutrients... relative to each other...

kinda confusing..

Let me give you an example..

If when you are 20 years old, you only date 30 year old woman... and when you were 30 years old you only dated 60 year old woman.... that would proportionally mean that when you are 40 years old, you would only date 80- year old woman,

It is just a ratio.. 3 is to 5 as 6 is to 10... blah blah blah..

I reallyneed to see apicture of your plants... But I would suggest running 5.8 pH water through yor res and plants for at least 24 hours... and then start with a ppm level of 200-300... and just sit on that for about 48 hours...

sorry about the burn

cheers

i did 2 res changes. 1 as soon as i realized there was a problem(last nite 4ishpm) till about 5:30-6:00

then i did it again using plain water and let sit till about 6:30 tonight. only thing i did not do was adjust the ph. which would have been round 6.5-7

i pre-made 2 one gallon containers with the GH nutes and ph adjusted that.

they seemed to have re-couped a little and i guess time will tell now how things will be.

thanks for the advice:spew:

just an fyi i guess but the original plant food i was using was

"SHULTZ 10-15-10 plant food plus all purpose liquid plant food" (236ml)

not good stuff. by comparison, the Schultz recommends 7 drops (large drops) from provided dropper per quart. thats 4 droppers per gallon.

on the other hand, from the recommended feeding instructions of the general hydroponics gro/micro, i needed only 1.25 ml of each.

i dont have the gh concentrations in front of me but the bottle sizes were 500ml.

i still seem to be confused on this concentration thing. other than i TOTALLY was using the most incorrect stuff out there, because even at 1 or two droppers it was still overkill.
but i am trying and learning i guess.

when i cant or i stop learning, kill me.

thanks for the encouragement. i need it if you have followed any of my other posts.

Hey Mass...

That shultz fertilizer is for SOIL grows...

I am pretty sure...

I am not sure how it crosses over to HYDRO grows..

cheers

Mr I Can Do That For Half
Few issues there.Yup you need hydro specific nutes not wal mart or homedepot nutes. Your also in an aergarden which isnt such s good thing to grow in. You want the pump to stay on 24/7 and since that things res is way to small your gonna have to watch it carefully since that small a res with multiple plants in it the ph and ppm will jump hourly as there is not much water to buffer the jumps from plants drinking and evaporation. Just not a great thing to grow ganja in
