Sly2slim here with a question for any pro growers out there regarding how to obtain max yield in a 12X10 grow room with 8 HID bulbs and 99 plants.
Im opening a medical marijuana cooperative and am in the design phase of my professional grow room. After studying many rooms Ive decided on a completely closed, dual room flip-flop system.
The dimensions are 6X10 for each flowering room, for a total of 12X10 with a 6.5 ceiling. Each room will have 3, 1000wt HPS and 1, 1000wt MH adjustable vertical hanging bulbs (no reflectors) running off 4 digital ballasts on a flip flop system. This gives me 8 1000wt HID bulbs for flowering.
Each room was intended to have 5 shelves ascending in step fashion on each side with an aisle space in the middle where the lights hang down, allowing for maximum light exposure with proper pruning i.e. so not only the tops of the plants get light (see pic).
Other equipment: CO2 canisters; dehumidifiers; fans; air conditioning unit; thermostat; timers; mylar.
Originally, I was going to go SOG style: 1 gallon pots (soil) on 5 shelves with 50 plants per bulb; no topping; 10 day veg period followed by 8 week flowering. With 400 plants I was hoping to get between 5 - 7.5 lbs per room.
However, Im worried about any Fed raids and am seriously looking at keeping my plant count down to 99 to avoid serious complications/jail time. This leaves me 93 total flowering plants, as 6 will be mothers in a separate clone room. So thats 47 plants in 1 room and 46 in the other, or roughly 11-12 plants per light.
In this scenario, Im looking at 1-2 shelves on each side of the room with 3 gallon pots, but Im unsure as to the best veg time and flowering time to allow for maximum yield considering my room dimensions and number of bulbs. Im also looking for the quickest turnover to yield ratio.
Any suggestions and recommendations are much appreciated. Thanks.
