The main unit for measurement for max efficiency should be grams/watt. Your constant is your wattage. Question is how many grams can you get out of that wattage for a grow cycle. The variables of course are the genetics, medium, nutrients and environment. From what I read and understand, if you are able to get 1g/watt, in a horizontal indoor garden, you are one in a very few. Some bigger growers I know are looking for "a pound per light" and they are referring to a 1000w w/ a large reflector under optimal conditions which is about 1/2g/watt.
Question I have is, can you grow 4x 8oz yeilding plants under 1x 1000w light? I mean an 8oz plant is a pretty big indoor plant. If you could, then you are at 2lbs (900g) right there.
