nice porn you have in this thread dude. from blurples/cfl's to state of the art .
man i wish had ur bank but really wish i didn't get inspections so i can grow n peace.
i noticed your tent fan. can you tell me exactly what model that is and price. small things like that get such shitty reviews it's hard to choose something reliable.

i just put a 250 mh in the basement today first hid over plants in 10yrs. i'll switch to a 600 digi in 4/5 weeks of 12/12. hell i haven't even set up my tent yet. got a gorilla shorty, new filter, fan etc. etc. all
new unused so far.

i'll be looking to hear you thoughts on the lambs bread . i know JD Short uses an LB in a cross but still haven't seen much info on it. funny u said they didn't know about stretch lol.

Lol, thanks man. Yeah, been eyeing the Timber and saving up for a while. It wasn’t cheap, but I wanted to invest in something that would last and would perform.

I have both a Monkey Fan (which doesn’t oscillate) and a Vivosun Fan (that does oscillate). Just got the Vivosun this grow, so no idea how long it will last, but the monkey fan I’ve had for a couple grows now and it seems to be still going strong.

Will definitely be giving a smoke report when everything is dried up a cured, so stay tuned for that.

Thanks for following along.

Just wanted to post that I finally got my hands on a strain that I’ve been wanting to get for a while now, ManiPuri from The Real Seed Company! Picked up some Chitrali #2 (Landrace Indica) as well as that’s another strain that I’ve been interested in for a while.

Oh yeah!15F971B3-A55B-42F8-9350-88A9B7C53F29.jpeg

Figured I’d post these here as well as over in the One Love Genetics thread.

The first pic is of the two Mazars I’ve got growing in the Seedling/Clone tent and the second pic is of the 3 Pine Tar Kushs.

Last crop is still drying, but as soon as it’s ready I’ll pull it out of the big tent and put the new crop of seedlings/clones under the Timber. A few of the Regular seedlings are getting close to big enough to Top and take clones from as well. Then I can start sexing them in the clone/seedling tent and culling the males.8FCFC645-AE51-4F82-8979-548F6AF32031.jpegCA5A8606-3E3F-4B70-A84D-67C0B90F0A45.jpeg

Decided it was time to pull the last harvest out of the tent. Currently have them in paper bags so they can continue to dry while they wait for me to be able to trim them up. The small stems are starting to snap when bent, but the large stems still bend. Should hopefully get some time tomorrow to throw the small stuff into my Trim Bag and get them into jars. Then I plan to hand trim the top buds.

In the meantime got the new crop into my tent under my Timber. Currently have more plants than I’ll wind up keeping as I won’t have room to flower more than 9 plants. Plus, a bunch of the plants are from Regular Seeds, so I am expecting some males that I’ll pull. My plan is to keep any additional Females that won’t fit in the tent and to just keep Vegging them till I can put them out this Spring for my outside grow (by time I put them out in May they should be plenty big, even though I plan on Manifolding them to both slow down growth some and also to provide a better base to grow into my SCROG outside.

I’ll also have at least a few that will be given away though as I have multiple clones of both the Skunk 1 and Super Skunk going currently and I’m only keeping at most one of each.

Finally, noticed some white spots on the Lambsbread clone leaves, so dusted her with some DE just in case there is anything chewing on her.33DFE75F-EFE3-4937-A899-D4B1A0D75253.jpeg

Oops! Kinda pissed off my plants as the big tent is quite a bit cooler than the little Veg tent was, and they were sitting right on the floor (basement)!

So bought some risers for them to get them off the floor and transplanted then all into 1 gallon fabric pots. Believe it or not they have started to recover (they were looking REALLY sad a couple days ago) and I’ve managed to get the temps back up into a better range.

As they fully acclimate to the Timber I‘ll gradually increase the power and the PAR till the light is running at full blast. Last crop I had them under 600 PAR by the end of Veg and they seemed to be loving it. Might even try going higher, but also need to have some wiggle room to be able to maintain a fairly steady DLI when I flip them.

Also, 3 of the plants in the smart pots are gonna either get trashed (if they are males) or gifted to friends (if they are females) and all of the plants still in solo cups are getting either gifted to friends or trashed (2 are Regular seeds and could be male or female).

Gonna let the big plants show me that they have bounced back, then gonna Top them and throw the clones into my Clone/Seedling tent and sex them along with the two Regular Seed plants in the solo cups. Then I’ll keep the females.DC5F46FA-43A8-4EDE-A3CC-155331A47AFA.jpeg

Final update picture was from this past Sunday (December 22nd) and it was on that day that I decided that the SCROG was as full as it was gonna get without becoming overly crowded in other parts, so I decided to flip them.

Overall, my experience with the Timber 4VS in Veg has been awesome! My plants were healthier and grew faster than ever before.

Now that they’re in flower, I can’t wait to see what they can do! Hoping for a solid Gram per Watt of yield. View attachment 4443809
You should get that weight. I had the same light in a 3x3 and pulled like 14 zips. Go up to 600w and hydro and get around 25 zips per run. Got better yeilds with 3000k spectrum vs 3500k. Have both. Nice grow !!

Thanks Twalte! Yeah, from only having ever used cheap blurple LEDs and CFL’s the jump
to a high performance light like the Timber was bound to have a learning curve. I’ve always maintained that the goal is to just continue to learn and try to use your experience to get a little better each grow.

Thanks for following along, will also check out your journal if you have one.
Good job for your first cob grow.
There is definitely a learning curve.
Watering schedule, VDP, Magnesium, light distance & Dimming, room temps, dtw, plant reading will all be helpful to dial in for white leds.
If you can manage a lil IR or FR in there i found that to be helpful for transpiration as white cobs have very little.

Goodluck & Good Job!

Thanks SouthSide!

Unfortunately I didn’t get that weight as two of the plants (the Super Skunk and the Wifi) wound you being total duds (neither yielded above 1/2 oz, SS due to it being way in the back so it was really difficult to feed, having serious issues very early into flower due to a bunch of leaves getting burned while I was trying to water her; and the Wifi wound up being absolute trash genetics) and the largest BB Kush in the back got riddled with PM. Candida also didn’t stretch for crap so only yielded 1 oz.

So only wound up getting about 11.

Next time though I will get it. Not only because I’m dropping those crappy strains from my tent (even gonna drop the Candida, even though it’s a great CBD strain; got a couple Dinamed CBD Plus seedlings going to replace it and the Wifi and that strain is supposed to be a very good yielder with much better bud structure), but also because I learned my lesson about no defoliating with such a dense “high performance” canopy and growing style and about the need to feed to keep them growing to their potential.

But, to use a Martial Arts analogy, I was just a White Belt at growing with COBS this time around. Each time I’m gonna get a little wiser and a little better. Hopefully this next/current run I’ll be able to apply those lessons and graduate to at least Blue Belt status. My eventual goal of course is to reach a high level of familiarity and proficiency and surpass the elusive 2 gpw mark. Maybe even give that 2.4gpw record for someone growing with Timber’s that RainDan mentioned on the Timber IG page a run for its money someday.

Upwards and onwards. Happy growing brothers and sisters!

Yeah, absolutely.

ATM don’t really have a way to get FR or IR into the tent. I know people use reptile heating bulbs to add that and UV to their grows, but seeing as managing temps was an issue last time around in flower the last thing I want to do is add more heat. I know FR/IR can increase cellular expansion/yields and some day can slightly speed up flowering times though. So, maybe some day.

Thanks for the follow!

Timber Grow Vlog, take 2 update.

The space heater is definitely helping! Girls are looking so much happier and a few have fully recovered (interestingly enough those two are two of the Landraces the Mazar and the Lambsbread).

Also seeing some great growth happening with some of the smaller plants that were way behind when I first put them into the tent.

Still have too many plants, but a bunch of them are Regulars, so statistically I should have some males which can easily be discarded. And I popped extras of most of the strains so the odds are on my side that I’ll get a female of each.

Finally, last grow taught me that while I love the M3, I can’t put them into big enough containers that they will be able to finish without getting nutrient deficient. So I picked up some Papa’s Perfect Poop to allow me to feed them throughout flower so they can reach their potential. Pics in second post are of a Skunk1 clone that started to get nutrient deficient, then a couple days after I top dressed her with some P3. Can absolutely see her bouncing right back.

Oh yeah, gonna Rock it this time!6C92AB6F-295A-4A95-ABAB-5CD466EFCBEB.jpegF7CFB2BC-E517-427D-BCA7-04BF2BF024D9.jpeg36D16FDD-D4FD-4D16-B203-82FED926F81A.jpegCB04997B-1641-43C1-9089-20CCEF24A790.jpeg25EE3677-936F-47BD-8AC1-716EFEDE8AC9.jpeg99E5D51C-5F05-4AD3-AC49-2B1BB9B62E26.jpegD2B5C8CA-3EA7-4BF1-AF69-BF26B7A75173.jpeg06AF427B-3001-4100-8AEE-B7875DE40555.jpegB2C9487D-049F-4B71-A24F-25735065C5FE.jpeg

Another update on the tent.

Upped the intervals that the heater is on vs off and the plants seem to be liking it. Checked the lower nodes and they all seem to be growing well (a few even a little too well), so am planning on topping them tomorrow.

I will then throw the tops into my clone tent and clone and sex them so I know that’s what. Then I can pick my keepers to flower out under the Timber.10AC67E5-1F72-4E9A-A8E5-DC2B599E1D5C.jpeg39A86B03-339B-48C3-851C-9E61D10066B4.jpegA6DE85DD-0708-431F-8104-93DB7FB0A9A7.jpeg

can you pick up a hortilux 660nm 2ft t5 & hang it in the tent ?

I suppose I could, but at the moment I want to get everything dialed in with just the Timber before I go throwing in other variables. I’m a believer in. Or changing too much at a time, lest you lose the ability to evaluate how any one of those variables are working.

At some some point I may look into adding it (though I am thinking I’ll probably go for the UV supplementation first, depending on how Twalte’s grow using it goes).

Big tent update:

Topped everything that I might be keeping. Left the two smallest seedlings that are still in Solo Cups (a Jamaican Shipwreck and a PineTar Kush) intact for now.

Should hopefully be well rooted in a few weeks, then I’ll separate them out and throw everything that I need to sex into flower and put the others into the big tent for a couple weeks (I’ve got a smaller clone tray that I’m planning on putting them into) till they show me their sex.

It’s always painful to do this to my plants and I hold my breath every time I do it, but I know they’ll bounce back and ultimately I’ll get a bigger harvest and a more even canopy than had I just let them grow wild.

Few days post Topping update:

Plants are bouncing back well, a few seem to have fully recovered. Hoping the clones I took root quick so I can sex them and decide what to keep and what to toss/gift.516FA2D8-6400-4B2D-BDCE-20B32EE7B061.jpegA0A78A06-EC56-445A-BF13-C50F3F642C0C.jpeg

plants have now all fully recovered from being Topped and are growing vigorously again. Definitely gotta attribute their rapid recovery to the Timber and Orca. Love this light!

Going away for a few days so I’ve got the auto watering system in place, but just gave them all a good soaking, so they should be good till I get back. Can’t wait to see them then!

Also, the clones are pissed at me! Not sure if it was the recent cold spell we had or what but they aren’t doing as well as most rounds of clones I’ve done have. Not that it’s a big deal if they don’t take as I’ll have several more rounds of topping till it’s time to flower and I can use any of those for clones as well. But kinda wish I’d just put them into flower right away so I could at least clear some space out in the tent.

Oh well, chalk it up to another learning experience. Most of them will still likely pull through and once they do I’ll throw the whole tray into flower.3485B058-E540-4EC3-AE98-90C7242366A8.jpeg8ADFE917-1CB7-4FD8-A19E-622FBD9E15AC.jpeg

Went away for a few days and had my best friend look after my plants while I was gone (gave them a heavy soaking the day before I left so he didn’t have to do too much, but still appreciated him checking on them).

Always fun to come home after some time away from them like that and see that they have thrived and grown significantly!

At this point they have all 100% recovered and are growing vigorously, so I’m gonna top them all again tomorrow.

Finally, some of the clones have done well, a few have rooted and a few others look like crap. Gonna take the clones I cut off the tops this next round plus the clones from the last round that look good and throw them all into flower. Gotta figure out what’s what or I’m gonna very quickly run outta room in the tent.

Still loving this Timber!A95A900B-65A4-4986-ABE7-5838DD693558.jpeg92BF2F81-ED04-4F5B-AED2-137ED8748290.jpeg06EE7983-3D7D-44F2-9C82-3BD011DD1CEB.jpeg
