Ok here's my thoughts, you can decide if they are valid or just need to be dismissed.
First of all you said you cloned off some plants but I got the impression you kept those plants & used the clones in the same grow??? (maybe i'm wrong?) well if you did that may be why the mothers stems are 5x thicker & the others are skinny as can be. If you tried to grow them together well then you surely couldn't get the lights down low enuf to the clones to be effective, as such they stretched out & are tall & skinnny like they are.
Also, let me say now, don't let any of this critsism get you down. I'm sure what you get out of these will be very nice smoke especially when you take into account the fact that you are smoking something you grew yourself. that's a very satisfying feeling & you should be proud.
So if i could recommend anything it would be grow all your plants @ the same time, err i mean start them @ the same time. I've made that mistake myself, it's just too hard to take a plant that's behind & catch it up to the others that are ahead. But if you do have a short plant, then instead of hoping it will catch up, put it up on a "booster seat" or stand or whatever to get it a little closer to the light. if it's short then the other plants will shade it out & they will grow faster while the short one grows slower thus compounding the problem, so boost it up & make it taller.
Another thing, you asked about drainage. well drainage is important because your plants roots will need water & nutes AS WELL AS oxygen. The roots get water & nutes when you water them w/ fertilizer (Nutes, duh), but they get oxygen when the soil drys out. So you need to let the soil dry out well before you water them again or else they will not get the oxygen they need. Ok, so this is where drainage comes in. The better the drainage the faster the soil will dry out & they can get oxygen, thus allowing you to water them & give them nutes again. So the better the drainage the more often you can complete the cycle of water/nutes, drainage, oxygen.... water/nutes again etc. Anyhow the best way to get good drainage is well first of all make sure you are using pots that have drainage holes in them & if you are using 5 gal buckets or somethign similar then drilll plenty of holes in the bottom & in the sides (near the bottom). Sencond, you want to use plenty of Perlite in your soil, this is very lite & it will help the soil drain well. You want to use about 50% perlite w/ your soil, or else a combination of about 50% Perlite/vermiculite in your soil. What I use is a mixture of 40% ProMix, 20% Fafard 3B, & 40% Perlite. It's lite & it drains well.
Also, consider staking & tying your plants because they look like they will fall over if they get any bud weight on them. And if you can put some mylar up (if you haven't already) that should help give you an extra boost of light out of what you already have.
