Can't run passively
I've been following captain Morgan 's DIY and he is running same amount of cob's (3) on each heatsink , ( passive) and has no problem with temp. So if I run (3) drivers into one ac plug , do I need a resister inline with pot?

Captains running 700ma though right? Youll have twice the heat.

With the HLG-600H series can you run a combination of parallel and serial circuits ? like 10 cobs in parallel would make 12.5 A on the 48b into 1.25, but that doesn't come close to the consuming the 600 watts the driver has. I don't know if its works but if you had 9 cobs in parallel and 4 in serial. Would the 4 in serial when added act just like the 10th cob and split the current 10 times to 1.25 ?

you mean 'series' and no it wont work as you need more than 36V to run in series. the fist one in the string MIGHT light up but i doubt it

I have 4 72v cxb3590's running at 700ma, 50w each on a 7.28 x 40 heatsink and sadly running passive as I hoped is not possible.

Nope. I have 3 36V cxb3070's at 2100 MA (73w) on a 48" x5.88 heatsink and it barely runs passively.20160330_072757.jpg

I was disappointed, after everything I had read that size heatsink should have been enough. I now run 2 92mm noctua fans running at 10 volts, keeps the heatsink cool and the fans are silent.

@Airwalker16 why does it look like there is light coming out between where your reflectors meet your heatsink?
That would be because there obviously is. The chip-lok ideal adapter for the 3070's is VERY poorly designed imo. Gonna wrap around in either foil tape from the inside or white electrical tape on the inside with black on the outside. Just along the rim where light leaks in both instances.

Are those house plants under that cob fixture or cannabis?
Heirloom tomatoes, but we keep getting this white snot like slime on the roots that like hangs on. It's really ducked em up. Can not get rid of it. Local university agricultural program couldn't even tell us. So that's why there's a plate of new seedlings. Never had the problem with my girls though. So weird

Do you have a journal on the tomatoes? Thinking on growing some myself

Can I do 4 3000k 3590 and 2 5000k 3590 @36v in a series using the HLG240H-C1050B driver? Is this a good setup regarding efficiency? I'm a n00b at this stuff and don't quite understand the chart. Also, the HLG240H-C1050B can be run from a regular 110 outlet right?
