Alright guys who out there is from mass i have already found a couple of you guys on here but i figure is the irish and the cali people get their own thread us massholes should too right! ahha all kidding aside it would be great to be able to bounce questions off eachother for OUR climate none off this perfect growing weather that cali sees. my first question for the outdoor Ma growers is how are you combatting this stupid amount of rain and no sun we have been getting? ( i have an over watering problem but mother nature wont listen to me and stop)

also any predictions on first frost.. it cut my crop short last year:cuss:

mass is no good for out door growing. like you noticed we get way to much rain here. fuck i feel like i live in london, i havent seen the sun in days and the forecast calls for a week of showers and storms. our temp is way too unstable, 90 one day 58 the next, wtf? i though about moving my plant outdoors one time when there was an emergency but i thought of all of this, and more. i dont trust anyone i know lives around my woods. pests and animals can get at it. stoners could steal it. oh and frost in like october and shit? no way do i trust my plants out there

I live in CT and the weather is very similar to yours. With the abundance of rain and cloudiness we've been having for the month of June my plants are still thriving very well...just gotta tend and care for em a bit more thats all.

i just went out and looked at my girls and the rain is killing me here, its not so much that the plants can't take it as this extended rain as it turns my garden into slugg paradise. All the diatomatiouse earth i have put out there has turned into this green alge shit from all these moist condistions as well, looks like i need to take a couple inches of soil off to get rid of this green shit and put down some sand for the sluggs, hopefully it wont turn into an alge farm.

looks like a couple more days of rain then it looks like it will clear up for a little bit and hopefully dry up a bit, i know it sounds weird im wishing for a drought hahha

my friend bergie is a little tapped because of a labotamy (sp) years ago but he believes he can control the rain. if anyone pisses him off he says hes gonna cause a drought to get back at them. i remember he said that about someone who burned him and it didnt rain more than a sprinkle for weeks. maybe you should come down here and piss bergie off

another stereotypical mass rain shower just began. it sprinkled for a bit and then the sky got dark and it started to pour hard. ill bet the storm is over in 20 mins tops

yaa.. the abundance of rain is a bitch, but if the sun is able to hit the plants for a solid 2 hours after a rain like this it can put on an easy inch with just the 2 hours of good light... i mean eventually its gonna be a big ass drought cause mass is quite retahded and we will all be complaining throughout august and september

I too had slug issues with my gahden. I bought an Ortho slug pesticide and it works wonders. Not a living slug left! They melt!

i used the ortho slug pestcied also it worked for a little bit, but im really in slugg paradise growing in between two swamps on an olddddd dirt road. im eventually going to get some copper for around my stems once they are bigg enough... if they make it.

thats good info that with two hours of light a plant can put an inch on. i was getting worried with all this cloud cover it was haulting growing.

Yes, Yes, Yes anndd YEAH yankees STILL suck hahah

i just threw some play sand around my plants apparently sluggs don't like sand...I F***ing hope so after lugging the 50lb bag a couple miles into the woods hahah but who knows im experemening more with how to keep the sluggs at bay than messing around with the MJ

the weathers starting to look a little better in extended forecast, but the weather men are 80% wrong a hundred percent of the time

sory to tell you i dont think playground sand is the right kind. i know (for gnats and bugs and shit) you want to use a course sand like glass sand that they cant crawl through. good luck man, playground sand might keep slugs out there bigger than gnats

oh my god the weather has been so bad in the north east this year! I am in maine and it has rained for almost a month straight which has really stunted my outdoor plants growth. I have had serious problems with slugs over the past month, and today i found spider webs and bite marks on the lower leaves... looks like the forecast is spidermites and more rain hahaha

i heard you can take care of slugs with some salt? just throw a ring around your girls. The salt makes slugs melt they wont cross it...however with all this bogus rain itd probably just wash away

yeah as im sure someone else will point out the salt will leech into the ground and fuck up your roots aswell. Dose anyone know where i can get this ''glass sand'' i was looking at homedepot and they have like course sand for quickcrete but i thought that the play sand would be a better idea. WHY ARE SLUGGS SUCH PRICKS!?!

and i wish i knew to leave the spiders i already killed a couple... duhhhh they eat bugs hahah i gotta stop going out there high, maybe ill make some good decisions sober.

ohh and ill start throwing some pics up of my grow if my babies make it to a respectable age without getting slugged on. I would love to be able to compair growth rates with this inclimental weather, im looking at other grows in those cali perfect conditions and get a little down on myself, letss see some New England midgets!
