Mars TSW2000 or T8 Reptisun for seedlings?

Good morning
Starting my first indoor grow. I have germinated my seeds and they have developed half inch tap roots. I have peat pucks and a dome to get them going. I have a 15" T8 reptisun tube light from my old bearded dragon or my Mars hydro tsw2000, 300watt LED, which is dimmable. The propaganda dome has a top which would put the T8 about 10 inches away. Is this too far away? That is the closest I can put that light. I have a portable heater which i can use to warm the room, if i go with the T8. Which light source would be better? Any help would be appreciated!!

Good morning: you don't need a dome for seedlings. The T8 should be fine to start then you can get the 300W light started, dimmed down to about 30%.

I love my TSW 2000 and have used it to flower several runs, and also used it in a 2x2 dimmed to start seeds and/or clones. I even started flower in the 2x2 with it, increasing the intensity.

Thanks!! How far should I place the T8 from peat pucks? Should i put into solo cup and put a baggy on top of cup, to retain a humid moist climate?

T 8 can be only a couple inches as long as you raise it as needed
No baggies or domes it causes issues

EDIT: Oh and WELCOME to RIU :weed:

Thanks!! Appreciate the shared knowledge
One more question:
I have some mycro Jordan, should I add a tiny amount to top of peat pucks when going from wet paper towel into peat? Or should I wait till they go from peat pucks to soil?

That's what I thought when I walked into the local garden shop. Once there he swears by using this technique and said I would be pleased with the results. So I have ventured down this road, we will see how it works out. I will be using pro mix hp, and adding advanced nutrients micro, grow bloom. Also have green planet vitathrive(B Vitamin) and myco Jordan for root development. Had the 3 part nutrients given to me by a friend. Going down the more complex road to start. I have grown outdoors before and always went with more of an organic soil mix.

Ts-2000 just dim it down all the way and you’ll be fine at around 24“ above canopy…reptile bulbs emit uvb which will harm them over time and slow growth
