Thanks for the umol/j on the light. SF4000 which also draws 450w claims 2.7. I’m torn between the MH3000 and the SF 4000. The SF4000 is a bit more expensive, but more efficient. Anything I’m missing that would convince me to go with the MH3000? I’m looking at purchasing 2 of them.
You already said you bought the SF4000!

The best price/performance I think the Spider farmer 4000 lights offer that. I picked one up and It’s my first run with it. I’ll let you know about performance.

Mars uses Epistar chips while Spiderfarm uses Samsungs… I think the Sammys are more popular...
I have a couple of 5500k epistar. 200 watt.

They’re great for veg but they get moved to Lm301b Samsung’s for flower.

Sammy is much better than Epi at making buds.

I would never buy a Mars. They’re culpable of misrepresenting. Least they could do is call in a 450 instead of 4000.

Nice little thread here.. @VILEPLUME What did you end up going with? very interested to hear! That guys buds on the first page looks insane! I have one QB from HLG I use, if you can look under cosmetic damaged they are decent bit cheaper and the cosmetic damage is something you might not even notice while looking for it.

Spider Farm looks interesting or Phlizon brand I was looking at too. Yeah not sure about MarsHydro anymore, they used to be the ones to use back when led was new.

The spider farmer lights work great, I recommend the 4000 for a 4x4 tent. The lights are small and spread out. The Philzon works but the light is still purple and doesn’t have a nice spread like the Spider farmer.
Here are some pics of my new harvest under the spider farmer.

@VILEPLUME Cool. Great pic. Thanks for the reply, what Philizon are you talking about the new linear series? I will probably go with the sf1000 or 2000 as I already have a 130watt hlg 3500k and actually my kingled is a little old compared to these new units but I still like that one too. I don't do a big enough grow space to get a light that puts out over 250w right now. but in the future would def be something to think about. Thanks again.

6 qb V1s : 176$
2 sheets of alu : 20$ around here
2 x 240 drivers : around 100$
The light will work pretty much similar to a hlg550.

Or the 550 Eco at 649. Just a 100 more.

Guys this is not hard, just make your self a good light.

I know this thread was older was started but here are my results under the newer mars SP250s.

Just got a sf4000, curious if its better then 2 mars SP250s over a 4x4 botanicare table, i am coming from 600hps in magnum xxxl hoods.

So far 3 mars sp250s over a 4x4 looks to be the best option but thats a 750watt draw.

I don’t have the Mars SP but from the research I’ve done, it’s a quality quantum light. I don’t think you can go wrong with either light.9696D1DE-11BB-4F5E-8FE2-81267F4D1626.jpeg

I know you dont have a SP, when this post was started, they did not exist. I was merely providing additional feedback, and experience as I had a very difficult time finding any actual grow results or photos in regards to any of the lights mentioned.

The TS have a nice coverage footprint as well and a bit better ease of use for a tent as you only have to adjust 1 fixture.

Personally I would avoid any cob lights as they dont tend to have a very consistent or even spread. They have very bright hotspots followed by sudden dropoffs. This is why QBs tend to perform better across the footprint... they offer a more consistent and even coverage.

@VILEPLUME nice work thus far, i am hoping to run my sf4000 against the 2 sp250s and see which is better. AS stated above I think 3 sp250s would murder, but thats cheating as its nearly 750watts. So for testing to be fair, 2 it is since the sf4000 is also 480watts.
