I'm planning to build a bigger grow box and I want to run LED lighting I've seen couple reviews of the new Mars led lights but haven't seen much just want to know if they are worth the money any suggestion on LED light that are worth the money
led producers are know for exaggerated claims.a lot of people have made the mistake of buying cheap leds.their is a reason the price of these units are getting so cheap on ebay.you need to do a lot of research before switching to leds or you will end up spending a lot of money on junk.talk to experienced growers, greenhouse supply companies and look at what commercial growers in your area are using. don't get caught up in the "star chamber"

Have seen some models go for big $$$
The Viparspectra will probably be okay for veg. I bought a Mars like a sucker. If I veg with a cheap 2 bulb T8 and the Mars together they work fairly well. You can get a T8 at Lowes for $18 or a crappy one at Wal Mart for $10.97. Tow 6500 K bulbs will cost about $7.80. The Vipar is better than a Mars.

These Chinese "burples" are they are call here are pretty worthless in flower.

Then go with a bunch of led bulbs from a local store. Seriously. They will provide more than enough light for you.

What is important is learning how to grow first. Once you do then you should go all hog wild with whatever is flavor of the day.

I have a fusion sulphur lamp from the late 90s/early 2000s that was the latest tech at the time but belongs in a museum now. Will it grow plants? Yes. Will it grow them well? For me, yes but others probably not.
