Since a day ago I wasn´t feeling well and today saw a doctor and confirmed what I was thinking Covid :(

With all my effort today moved seeds to root riots and installed the first light at 10% power 90cm distance.

I been tired, sleeping, sweating, drinking water, taking my meds If you got covid you know what I'm talking about.
I will do my best to update the journal and hope get better next couple of days.

I transfered the seeds and moist root riots with the same water receipe in the first post, but I included a gram of Great White.

(Left) Caribbean Creme opened 5 of 6 and one is still strugling to go out.

(Right) Weekend at Gary 6 of 6 opened.

From my last grow experience I won't touch them or water them again the next 6 or 7 days.

That will give me a little time to recover.

Be safe everyone

I cut almost half root riots and inserted the seeds in the middle.

IMG_9382.jpg

Heat mat to 23°C and now light cycle is set to 18/6
The timer for this light is set to: Turn On 5:00PM and Turn off 11:00AM

Date: August 23 2022

Temps are: Between 21°C and 24°C
RH: 75%

We have 5 CC plants and 6 WAG.

Plants were touching the top of the dome (small) so I replaced with another.

I see some roots coming out from the root riots, but I think they can wait more days
until we move them to solo cups.

Looks like a nice start so far. I’m a big fan of Mars hydros sp series. First light that brought back over a gram per watt. Can’t wait to see this grow out. Those crosses sound pretty good.

Thanks man, this is my first time with solfire genetics and doing changes from my last grow. I hope to be at least 70% better by the end of this covid week.

Hello guys,

I been feeling much better the last 2 days the doctor said I just need to finish some meds and taking a covid test to verify if I'm still active or not.

So today I labeled everything and change plants from root riots to solo cups. Installed a humidifier an set it to
80% RH and also a clip fan to move those steams a little.

Something I notice was that the light power I was using was down I increase to 25% power to get at least
102 PPFD
with 50cm distance from the canopy. I used the app Photone on the Iphone to measure PPFD, but
If anyone have a light meter and compare both results how far are one from the other will be great.

Solo cups are filled with coco and I water them with the first Floraflex nutrients V1 (1gram per gal) ,
V2 (1gram per gal). EC 650ms and PH 5.8.

I have the same app. I believe it’s recommended for a diffuser to be used when measuring light with the iPhone camera. (Android does not) A piece of white copy paper is sufficient. Wrap it around the top of the front facing camera & tape in the back. If on iOS it should be pretty well factory calibrated. Android users would need to test it and probably calibrate since they have so many devices. (According to the website)

The test I did was using the paper as the instructions says.

Latest update, I'm doing water every 2 or 3 days 60ml with EC 600 PH 5.8-5.9.

When I mix new nutrients will go for the 1.0 EC and will include root drip and Power Si.

I Increase a little the PPDF by lower the lights to 19 inches from the canopy still 25% power.

Temps are between 20°C and 24°C

RH between 85% and 75%

IMG_9595.jpg

According to Photone iphone app using the diffuser this are the values of the SP3000 PPDF and DLI with
18 hours on.

Yesterday I move to 2 liters pots. Not much roots from the sides, but more from the bottom. When moving to the last pot the options will be Quickfill 2 galon pots or Floraflex 3 galon plastic pots and start thinking, how to install the drippers and the pump with the floraflex trays to collect runoff this is going to be the first time trying to use that.

I soaked coco for the 2 liters pots with 2 galons of RO water with nutrients.

- Powers SI 1ml
- Root Drip 2ml
- Floraflex V1 3.5grams
- Floraflex V2 3.5grams

PH 5.8 and increased the EC to 850ms

Increased just a bit the light to 35% power.

AFTER

IMG_9622.jpg

Pots are heavy in weight so there's enought water and nutrients for 4 or 5 days before doing water again.

Temps are the same 20°C to 24° and RH 75% to 85%

Plants are going well, not eating much I'm giving them 1.1 EC with 500ml and 250ml of runoff.

Increased EC to 1.1 today I measure runoffs on all pots one by one and it came between 1.3 EC and 1.4 EC I think we
are in a decent range. I water them once every 4 or 5 days, we can't water them on this stage every day and we
need drybacks.

If I was following Floraflex shedule I might be feeding on 2.1 EC in their medium strength table, but I like to read
runoffs that way we don't overfeed them and depends of the conditions like strain, temps, lights and humidity.

My Floraflex receipe for this weeks using 4 galons are:

- Power Si Original 2ml
- V1 9 grams
- V2 9 grams
- Root Drip 4ml
- PH Up

EC 1.1
PH 5.9

I notice that I mix my nutrients and I correct with PH Up to 5.9, but the next day I check PH and goes down by almost 1.0 and 1.5 so I need to correct again with PH UP. Power Si lows a lot the PH. If I wasn't including Power SI I won't need to correct because nutrients are in the range. Did someone notice that ?

Lights are in the 50% power and 20 inches distance from the canopy. Looks like is looking now a little crowded I need to install the second light to give them more space. Remember one of the Weeked at Garys is going out so we keep only 10 plants in total, I will give that one to a grower friend.

Wondering if runoffs can be used again ? another grower says he use his runoffs to water them any experience on that good or bad idea ? I always think runoff is like piss for us the plants take what they need and runoff is what they don't want or don't need agree ?.

Some grower commented me that some long steams in some pots are streaching like that because they are looking
for light ? (For example pot on the top 4th from left to right) I'm thinking more a pheno thing ? because is not showing
in all plants if that could be the reason.

Feel free to comment !!

Cheers !!

2 Days ago installed the second Mars Hydro SP3000 light because the space between plants was small.

I notice last time I gave them water and measure runoffs from each plan was coming low by 200ms
so increased EC to 1500ms (1.5) PH 6.0 I also did some topping today for every plant on the 4th node to control
height in case some of the plants are with more nodes than the rest and maybe start doing some LST in the next
weeks when they recover, any suggestions on how many tops I could be doing before I have a jungle during
flower.

IMG_9828.jpg

If someone could help me I found like a burn from light ? in one plant leaf only.
Lights are 50% Power and 20-21inches distance from the canopy.

Updating.

Notice that plants started to eat a lot more measure EC runoffs from each plant my nutrients water was 1.5 EC and runoffs came with a 1.0 EC and .9 with some tips of the leafs are starting to yellow, meaning we need to increase nutrients at least 1.9 to 2.0 on the next weeks.

They are not drinking much water, might be for the my low temps, but they are eating a lot more.

Nutrients receipe using 4 galons are for the next weeks:

- Power Si Original 2 ml
- Floraflex V1 13 grams
- Floraflex V2 13 grams
- Root Drip 4 ml
- PH Up

EC 1.9 and PH 6.0

I'm starting to think they are growing slow for the next reasons, low nuts stress, small pots and temps are in the
range of Min 18°C and Max 21° RH is 60% to 70%.

Do I need to increase temps ? I hate to put something inside, that will take some space of the tent.

Did a couple of days ago a defoliation on the bottom removing just a "few" leafs and did some high stress training to get better light penetration, while doing that part I broke 2 stems from the top on two plants not a good idea to bend them when they are still small and fragile.

I'm thinking doing a transplant to final pot 3 Gal Floraflex or smaller pot before final pot ?

A grower said to me the other day you need to increase light, I said NO the 50% is enought and leafs are not looking for more light and they are not bending down meaning too much light they are flat horizontal, I will increase to 75% light power by the end of week 3 of flower once we get there.

I installed yesterday a heater to raise temps at least to 74°F during the nights when the lights go on,
and increased EC to 2.6 run offs are coming now to 2.5 EC.

If you see some yellow tips in the plants they look hungry and the color of some leafs are light green in some of the bigger plants, a friend told me that my EC was low by this stage, but I told him I want to go slow on nutrients and raise by the runoffs EC. Strain, Temps, humidity is something that needs to be perfect in your environment to apply higher EC's.

I did some changes for the receipe for 4 galons :

- I add Calmag until we reach 300ms
- Floraflex V1 17.5 grams
- Floraflex V2 17.5 grams
- PH Up

EC 2.6 and PH 5.9

Want to try if removing Power Si and Root Drip can make things better or at least more stable once they are better we will add them back for now will see how they look during the next weeks.

Today I bought some parts to install Floraflex platforms for drainage, I never done that so wish me luck on that.

I also need to install the drippers and automatic water because I will be out in 3 weeks for 5 days for a job.

Any commments are welcome.

Have a nice weekend.

As we can see roots are healthy.

Some notes, I notice that some steams are looking purple (red) so I decided to increase calmag before adding V1 and V2. A grower GrowingwithDragon said to me that I can't use together Power Si and Floraflex Root Drip they cant be mixed together. So I will stay with Power SI and once a week use Floraflex Root Drip without Power Si.
