Mars Hydro 1000W LED results?

I'm looking to buy my first LED light. I've been doing a bunch of reading and watching videos and stumbled upon this one. I was all set to buy this light and a conversation I had with the guy at HTG supply store has got my worried.

They are selling 150w LED lights for $250 and sweating by them. But here I can find good reviews on a 1000w LED light for $150. Is HTG just way over priced on their lights? Is there something different to their lights that warrants such a difference in price between theirs and this? I somewhat understand the use of umol/j and PAR levels and everything seems on the up and up with this light. Am I missing something or did this guy In the store just want to sell me a ridiculously overpriced light? Does anyone have any results to share with the Mars Hydro or something in a similar range?

The light you have linked is actually a 150W light. You will find this further down the listing, by reading the entire description. Lots of misleading, and downright false, advertising claims are made, by many grow light companies.

When you are researching LED lighting, it is critical to find the actual power draw.

Yeah I've read a few forums about how deceiving light companies are which is what makes this so difficult. I knew that this light pulls 150w from the wall. I guess what I should be asking is this light going to be equivalent or better for my buds than my 400w HPS light?

250w of hiiiiigh quality and efficient white LEDs will be comparable to a 400w HId.
 
I used to run a 400 watt hps, people often would say get a 600 or 1000 but I was good with a 400. Now I have the ts 1000 and supplemental light.
it’s way easier too get good result and density with a 400 . However if you play your cards right you could get just as good buds with the ts 2000 (300watt).

No shit. I just got and built my 260W kit last night. I was super happy when I found out those ones came with the A/B driver, and included potentiometer. So I went to order another and they were already sold out. I'm still tempted to get a couple 135's, it's just too bad they don't have the potentiometer. I can adjust the wattage super easy, and have it anywhere from 28-250 watts how I have it set up now.

I just bought a HLG 240w for around the same price ($150), 2 boards of 288 leds, light is variable from 2,000-47,000lux at 24".

You can still dim 0-100% on an HLG-120H-48B

HLG driver, Chinese boards with Samsung 301B chips ..... I'm living in Asia, here you take what you can get.
Almost all electronics sold in the world come from China, probably all from the same factory with different names.
But I can't buy such items from Europe or the USA, anything even vaguely cannabis related is prohibited from import, even Fox Farms nutrients.
For some reason you can buy anything you like direct from China as long as it's in 'discreet packaging'.

I did a bunch of research and the best for the $ were the SF 2000 AND TSW/TSL 2000 (spider farmer/Mars hydro) i bought the tsw2000, great light, and strong (300watts) burnt leaves at 15" during veg. These quantum boards compete and are bright. Hope it helps. Pic is end of week 1 flower.
