Because he made a very, very simple, layman point and not once, not twice, not even three times, but half a dozen times you've completely fucking gutter balled on getting it.

I will attempt to explain it to you. (Note to AC, I know...I know...but I have to try. It's the masochist in me.)

Typically, when large companies start taking over and mass producing products, you get an upsurge in privateer's. This typically happens for two reasons:
  1. The mass produced product is substandard.
  2. The mass produced product cost about the same as doing it yourself in many cases.
For instance, there's been an uptick in gardening lately. People are sick of tomatoes with no taste, grapefruit the size of melons with no taste, and more. They find it actually about the same cost and very rewarding from a personal point of view to grow their own garden vegetables.

The same has happened with automobiles as well. There are far more privateer automakers than large automakers these days. Granted, they're far more expensive, but they are a top drawer quality product.

So now we go back to AC's original comment you can't grasp. Here it is just so we're clear:

It's legal to grow tobacco, not even a limit on the number of plants as far as I know. It stands to reason that this is an indication that people will be able to grow their own if a mass producer holds a big piece of market share. I wonder if they would produce and market any products aimed at the medical side. My guess is flavored recreational shit. If they market rolled herb I'd try it.
So what he's suggesting is that if a major player starts mass producing marijuana, then they will push through legislation to legalize it everywhere. They have the lobbying power to do so and they have the will of the people behind that move.

Once that is done, it would stand to reason that you would have a lot of privateer growers step up and start growing marijuana in much the same way as you had boutique tobacco growers do the same thing.

What's more, if Marlboro decides to start mass producing medical marijuana products, it would in all likelihood make them so very cheap that it would be worth giving a try.

Now, I don't think that this can be dumbed down any further. So I do sincerely hope you get it at this point. If you don't, best to not post at all and just move on to another thread and pretend this one never happened.

For fucks sake.

You said that you were worried with "tobacco" companies lobbying for cannabis that home growing would be banned.

Abandon said that tobacco is legal to grow and no plant limits as far as he knows.

If a tobacco company isn't lobbying to ban home growing of tobacco why would they lobby for home grown cannabis to be banned when they enter the market.

You cast pearls before swine.

To these people logic is something like: Obama took in a few kids each month at the border who were alone and housed them in prison-like settings until the border agency could find family or foster care to take them in. Therefore Trump's arbitrary orders to remove thousands of kids from their parents and hold them indefinitely in prisons as a deterrent to asylum seekers is OK, because same as Obama. In other words they don't understand real logic.
