Marijuana testing services

What is the skinny with these companies? I have noted many web sites offering potency testing services and am curious as to what the community thinks. Anyone used them? Cost? Accuracy etc?

Seems like you have to have the product sample to be tested dropped off at some partner program or growers club. Likely to work around federal mailing laws (my guess). I have seen the DYI kits for $10 or so, but that's a far cry from liquid or gas chromatography. I have seen pre-configured portable GS units for around $10,000-$15,000.

I use a local compay for potentcy testing. $85 per sample tested. I wanted to know the quantity of CBD's in my flowers and I found out. I don't test any of my high THC strains. It is a good service if you have the need.

I assume you don't test your potent strains because you just don't care, as it's obviously potent weed. I hear that your can get significantly different results depending on the test lab and the difference between GC and LC machines. $85/test, is that a going rate because it seems real high to a guy like me that might want 2-3 samples tested. I bet the big growers get bulk pricing, but once a strain is tested, it's not like you need to keep testing it, or do you? (assumes you are providing to dispensaries)

Of course they keep testing it.

Any amount of issues throughout any given flower cycle can reduce potency, even if the grower has everything dialed in.

Also, mishandling during the drying and curing processes can reduce potency.

Hmmm, would be cool to hear from a dispensary as to the frequency of their testing and what they test for and why. I have also heard that some of these test labs just make shit up without really testing anything, just wondering if there is any credence to that rumor.

50-60 is the price range around here. discounts for multiple tests at a time. bigger discounts for bulk.
cant account for every business everywhere, but all around here are legit.
