"Marijuana seizures quadruple in L.A. County"

"The county climbs to the No. 5 spot in California's annual eradication campaign, with more than 340,000 plants destroyed...with 340,187 pot plants uprooted -- more than a fourfold increase."

"One particular three-day stretch amazed him, he said. Within an eight-mile radius of their outpost on Angeles Crest Highway, he said, agents uncovered and destroyed a dozen gardens and about 150,000 plants."

"State officials put the wholesale value of this year's eradicated marijuana at $17.8 billion."

Damnit, don't these people know we're facing economic hard times right now and it's foolish to go wasting our assets like this!

Are we supposed to keep the garbage the mexican cartels grow here?
No, we're supposed to stop wasting our resources enforcing laws that create an underground market for the Mexican cartels in the first place. Think what $17.8 billion from local home grown exchanging hands between LA residents could do for our local economy. :wall:

Which is why it's important that the authorities in Los Angeles county strictly control what is being grown in our woods, because 90% of it is being done by Mexican cartels that use the money to purchase guns, vehicles, and other items that further put southern Californians at risk for violence from these gangs.

If the authorities bring down the grows that are maintained this way, the value of cannabis grown by Americans inside of their homes (such as you and yours) goes up.

High demand always finds the highest supplier and as soon as that supplier is gone, the other people (you and I) stand a chance at circulating and exchanging our own money.

It's as simple as this... Do you want some Mexican cartel spending your money on guns, cars, drugs, houses, etc in Mexico... or would you rather I spend your money on housing, food, cars, entertainment within our own economy?

It's illogical to outlaw pot the way it has been, I agree entirely- but it's to our own benefit to keep STRICT control over WHO grows on our land, regardless of what it is... because we have enough problems with immigration ( I wont lie, I hate illegals and what they are doing to this country).

I would rather give my money to an American than a Mexican... any day of the week, and the more we rip Mexican grown plants out of our wonderful American soil the less they are able to steal our American dollars from us for a product that isn't as good as what we produce on our own.

I'm going to start labeling my shit "GROWN BY AMERICANS" :)

if i may play devil's advocate for a minute. :)

any money that may or may not be going to our neighbor to the south pales to the billions and billions of dollars we give to a known dictatorship communist nation (china) for not only guns but bombs. not to mention the multitude of human rights violations.

i see the "drug cartel" thing mentioned in the news often but haven't seen any evidence that they are in fact "mexican cartels." a can of beans and tortillas found at a grow site is not proof they are "mexican cartels.," maybe they're happy hippie vegans instead? :p

peace :)

I don't know what your talking about man. Most of the shit those guys bring across the border is filled with seeds and bricked the fuck out of. Have you ever seen literally a TON of pot, or even a couple hundred pounds? Well, its a big fucking plastic wrapped brick. Straight up. You really think the cartels nicely put each lb. in a gallon-size zip-locks or something? Think again bro.

Happy vegans can't match the yearly revenues of Fortune 500 companies. The Del Norte, Gulf, Tijuana, and Cali cartels can and do surpass many legitmate corporations in liquidable profits each year. The Cali Cartel has a average yearly revenue of 15 billions dollars. Not bad for coke/pot/meth dealers.

Since the only way you could even possibly fit a pound into a gallon-size ziplock is if you compact and brick it first...then, yes, maybe they do

Sad. All the hard work those people put in and all for nothin now. This is why we have crime. People counted on that for there bills, and now its gone and they have nothing so they have to go out and make the money some how. How great! they just took 17 Bil. from there own people.
