Hello fellow stoners.

Just got my package of Satori last Monday and are currently in the process of germination. 10 seeds.

First two weeks of growth they will be in the seedling/cloning box (2'x2.5') under T8 lights. After that, they will be under 400w of HPS for the rest of their grow in a 3.5'x6' grow cab. I will vegetate for 5 weeks then flower until they are ready which will be about 9-10 weeks depending what they look like.

For now, I will show you the seedling box.

Oh by the way, before I go on with this grow journal, I would just like to ask everyone to refrain from calling me "dude" or "man" because I'm not a dude, I'm a girl. Okay? :weed: :weed:

Grow medium is Coco and I will be using organic nutrients only which is composed of: Fish Emulsion, Seaweed, Guano.

According to Mandala, their strains do not need much feeding due to their robust quality. So that is what I am going to do: minimal feeding but lots of TLC

SATORI

Type: sativa-indica
Contains land race genetics from: Nepal
Cultivation: indoor/outdoor
Light: requires a minimum of 250W HPS/m2
Flowering time: 65-70 days/October
Yield: 550-600 gr/m2 (dry weight)
High: a clear, cerebral high and strong potency sets in quickly; it supports concentration & creativity; very inspiring and stimulating. Ideal for writers, artists, musicians, or other creative people.
THC: 23-28%
Potency: 9-10/10; long-lasting; no nervous side-effects (racy heart, etc.); suitable for regular med users, or persons with high THC-tolerance.
Aroma: fruity-citrus, pungent.
Medical Use: Satori shows her therapeutic potential in relieving depression and anxiety; this strain can ease sleep disorders from auto-immune diseases and Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS).
SATORI

We refined this strain genetically in 2006 to produce an even more reliable and powerful cross that will delight your connoisseur heart. Satori is an exceptionally easy to grow sativa. She has shown impressive hardiness against spider mites and other pests, and she possesses a good measure of mold resistance. Her slim appearance makes it possible to plant in narrow rows, or in SOG, to maximize her typical record yields even more. The firm side shoots provide highest quality cuttings. As with all our sativas she is heat resistant - an added bonus for small indoor environments and hot summer grows. The mainly sweet & fruity-spicy aroma is a real treat for the senses.

Satori grows a long head bud with chunky flowers and does not require much feeding on soil; you can almost do without feeding provided you use quality soil and sufficient container size (approx. 2 gallon pots for adult plants under 250-600W lamps). Keep EC levels low in hydroponics for best results. All Mandala strains are extremely efficient in nutrient uptake due to their hybrid vigor and require only low EC levels/feeding to develop huge leaf, stem and bud structure. Satori is a high yielding, powerful plant with an exceptional sativa high. The heavy buds are easy to manicure, and from the resinous bud leaves you can produce finest grade hash, comparable in quality to the famous Nepalese “temple balls”.

You should raise that light up about 12-16 inches.
When plant leaves are that young theiy're extremely sensitive, you'll do more harm than good.
Once you get your second set of true leaves, you can lower the lights to where you have them.

Even if the lights are only 18w a piece? ;-) I'm just worried that if I raise the cfls too high, they might stretch towards oblivion. Not really a big fan of cfls you know, and I have seen what they do to young seedlings when raised too high.

Either way, I still value your input Bongjuice and will consider your advice =)

I'm very interested in this grow and will be watching! I'm considering hashberry for summer grow given the heat resistence. I dig your setup. I hope the yields are as big as stated cuz WOW! That's a killer yield!

Thanks for the kind words guys :-) All of you get a nice +rep.

I've heard only good things from growers about Mandala's strains, especially Satori. Very decent strain.

@Holamickey - I actually plan to maximize my grow space for a killer yield! I will try to plant the indica phenos in narrow rows and LST the clones of the best sativa phenos. According to Mike, the indica phenos are really good for SOG while the sativa-dominant phenos are well-branched which makes them good for LST. :weed:

Hi there,

i almost bought the mandala satori seeds for my first grow, my girlfriend really liked the look and sound of them - the only reason we didn't was the fact that we wanted fem seeds for this one until we have more experience - will definately be trying it in the future though so we are really interested in how your grow goes, subscribed.

It's a pleasure to have you here G4J! :-)

Hello Eager Apprentice! It is nice to know that this journal will be very helpful for you. From what I read in Satori grow journals, this plant can be really hardy and easy to grow and the smoke is almost at par with Kali Mist and the original Super Silver Haze. I hope they are right! :-) +rep

I recently made a purchase off my favorite online shop based in UK (where I always buy my seeds) because they are having a 50%-off-on-shipping promo. I thought I'd take advantage of the cheap freight and ordered myself a glass bong, a borosilicate one at that.

For those who don't know what borosilicate is, it is a glass combined with the element boron. It is the same material used by Roor, EHLE and other expensive brands. Basically, the glass is stronger and can withstand more heat.

A package that weighs 480g shipped for only $6 from UK to Asia which will arrive in 7 days more or less. How amazing is that?

After five days of germinating them directly in soil, 9 out of 10 have sprouted so far.

The remaining late bloomer has already shown a tap root (I just had to peek as careful as I could). Hopefully I will get 100% germ rate.

One of the seedlings has a twin. Very interesting. I never had a twin seedling before. I don't know how to deal with it yet, but it sure is fun to look at.

Take a look at the pictures :eyesmoke:

Have a happy weekend everyone bongsmilie

The seedlings got their first organic feeding experience today: a layer of worm-castings.

I went to the garden shop earlier and bought worm castings and a seedling tray for clones.
I will clone 5 of each plant, maybe sell a few to my closest friends and choose the best ones to flower.

I want to flower ten females, or maybe even more if space permits. I also plan to keep the best male in the batch and breed some seeds for later.

I wish more people would keep their best males, because males also carry the genetics that makes a good strain. And it's really nice to be able to preserve a few seeds of your favorite strain.

have to tell u, that if u veg for 5 wks under a 400 hps , ur plants r going to b 6 ft tall. I only veg for 20-25 days and get plants 40 in tall. LOL

I'm going to veg for 5 weeks under 1 week of cfl and 4 weeks of 250w hps. Yes maybe I will go for only 4 weeks, but that depends on their sizes.

If you keep the lights close enough, the internodes will be closer together hence it won't be too tall :-)

hmm, that is crazy about the twins. I wonder since they are part of the same seed they should have only 1 true root systems.. if that is true you could leave both and have a double grow! Please keep updated on the progess of that one!! One of my little seedlings just broke through the dirt, it was one of the Pakistan Ryder, only 7 more to go.. lol.
