Wanted to give an update, give thanks and share the lesson learned.
Thank you all who responded to my initial question. In my inexperience and over willingness to do something I almost made a grave mistake. I was so focused on the fact that one plant was not acting the exact same way as another I was convinced it was a male, or probably was, so I was prepared to kill it off. Asking for advice and listening has paid off.
I kept the plant and watched to see if the pre-flower spot in question developed....it did not. BUT, while I was looking at it with tunnel vision and getting pretty sure nothing was ever gonna happen I noticed this in another area I had not been watching closer to the top.
I will admit that up until about 15 minutes ago I still had doubts. Last night I decided that while waiting for it to show I would take a couple cuttings to gain some experience before I took cuttings from my only female at the time. Figured if it did turn out to be male I would at least get some good out if it experience wise. I took the smallest and lowest two branches and turned them each into 6 hopeful clones. No doubt will be taking more cuttings today.
