MALE PLANT!! AUTOFLOWER? or what?

I got some seeds from a friend who said they were feminized, I planted two of the seeds and they are in veg for about 2 weeks and there was no flowers yesterday, but I walk in today and one of the two has produced pollen sack and it seemed as if one opened and fell of... Im not sure whats going. Is it an autflower or it is somehthign else going the other seedling that I planted has no sign of any sex yet.

Also they are in a my veg room? can vegging plants be pollinated what steps should I take to make sure I no seeds in my garden?

You are safe from pollination as long as none of your other plants are showing signs of flowering yet. If you have pistils (white hairs) growing out of your female plants, you should be worried about fertilization. The best thing to do with male plants is to get rid of them as soon as they are detected as male. Just one pollen sac can spread through multiple rooms and pollinate any flowering female plant. As for whether it's an autoflower or not, it's a little tricky to tell. It seems that way, but other factors such as intense stress can cause premature flowering in both male and female plants. Have you shocked the plant in any way you remember? Also, what is your light cycle for veg?

its on 18/6, not sure they might have had some drought stress, but the other seed i planted looks very identical in size and structure but no sighns of any sex, but my othr plants that are veggin in the same room do have preflowers...

males are known to auto. regardless of whether they came from a photo period strain or not. in most cases this would signify weakness and most would not breed with them. but with some strains its almost unavoidable to keep males from autoing so they must be contained or killed. if your other plants have flowers you should move it to another area.

a tote with some CFLs and a sligtly bigger pot is all youll need to flower him off and get plenty of pollen should you choose.

yes i agree your safe right now but he may start to flower. i would also transplant this will delay flowering.

also you said this came from fem seed? keep an eye for pistils.

yeh theres always a chance you will get a male whether fem or not. spray the plant with water and possibly the other plants with what to make pollen inert but it probably hasnt pollinated yet.

tiny weak looking male I don't think it has the genes worth breeding with it... your supose to breed with strong bushy males...

yea I will spray them couple times with water before moving the rest of my plants into flowering.

Spraying pollen sacs with water does not make them "inert". Where did that come from?

Your friend sold you regular seeds. That is a straight up male and you dont get full blown males from feminized seeds. Males flower before females and sometimes regardless of photoperiod. Toss it right away. Youre females will be safe if they havent started flowering. I dont know how long pollen can "live" but you might consider thoroughly cleaning the room to prevent any pollination.

And get your money back from your friend.

They were free, and i think water would affect the pollen because pollen is water soluble. but i already wiped the room down hopefully it will all be ok

Pollen isnt water soluble.

The water "sticks" to the pollen and weighs it down preventing it from dispersing freely in the wind. It doesnt dissolve it, just keeps it from blowing everywhere. Like if you wet down a dry baseball infield to keep the dust down.

This is really a last ditch effort though. You should remove any males long before they have a chance to disperse pollen.

I think it will be fine.
