Hi all!! It's been awhile! Things have been pretty crazy around here --

Kinda bummin' -- This is my 2nd try -- (To refresh - my first grow was unsuccessful...)

I have 2 Blueberry's going that I started from seeds that were supposed to be off of a female cloned plant...

A few days ago I noticed these and thinking I have a male -- or a hermie....
I have not switched the lights to 12/12 yet --

Also pics of the other BB -- and the other 2 I have going... 4 total --

I believe the others are female -- but not sure...

Would someone plz help?! I'll post pics In next post..
:leaf:

K. Ty!! So I do need to remove it from my room then. If it gets moved or shaken too much do you think it will release any pollen?

I'll put pics of my other two up as well - Pretty sure the one is female... because of the hairs on it.

Well...do you want your crop pollinated to get seeds or not? Its up to you...If you want to protect your crop put a garbage bag over the top of the entire plant and tie it off at the base, then cut it off and take it out, snip off some pollen sacks and throw it in a small glass jar to use to pollinate some females to get some seeds. Just break open a few of the pods in the jar, put a q-tip in it getting the yellow stuff on it...then put that on some flowers on the girls and there you go...seeds :D

I'll have to go back and look for the other pic of Joez Peace.... didn't save the one I wanted to... I'm pretty sure it's a female though.

So If I put some of those seed pods in a bag -- How long are they good for??

Yeah - I'll have to go back and search through my pics --

As I said - first time grower -- first try was a disaster.... but, I've learned and am still learning...lol
So these plants are my 2nd attempt -- they've been doing pretty well really -- except for JP is also looking droopy on her bottom leaves...
any ideas?? Not enough Nutes...er???

Is it normal for a plant to start budding before you put it into 12/12 lighting??

I ignored the first questions because I can't tell from the pictures you've provided an accurate answer to it.

As far as budding before going to 12/12, yes its called preflowering :)

depends on how you preserve it. If you dry it right out, and keep it in a dry, air locked container and refrigerated it will last for a couple years, you can even freeze it and keep it a long time :)

So, I removed the plant from the room - Should I just cut it and hang it to dry then? Or do I cut the sacs off first... and dry them separate?

......If I hang it to dry... will it release any pollen while hanging??

I'll be back later this afternoon!

As Always -- Thanks for any help or advice any one can give!:)

Getting ready to do some cloning -- Have to get things set up first. It's a good thing I found out about the male before I cloned it!! :)

It'll take me a few to get my pics on and saved, etc. - So, I'll log off and I'll be back -

If no answer to the other question -- I guess I'll just snip the pollen sacs off and dry em separately.

I'll be back here shortly --

Thanks again!:peace:

defo snip the sacks off. make sure you wash your hands before handling other plants. Try to get some closer pictures. It might help if you put a light on the side of the plant. I think you need more lights.you should take clones off the bottom.if you do whats called lolipopping before flowering you will have much bigger main colas.lolipopping is when you cut off all the small branches on the bottom and leave the main branches.

One more thing to think about is what kind of blueberry it is.Some blueberry responds well to topping you get more yield, others not so well. when you got the clone was the other guys blueberry bushy or tall with one top?

These have all been started from seed.... no clones --- I want to clone the bb if the one left is female. They seem to be a bushy plant all on its own.

So, do I snip the sack off before or after I dry it??
