I have 5 outdoor female plants, in containers, between 5-6 weeks of flowering, never seen any signs of male during preflower, still have not seen any signs of male,
first ?- will a male flower blend right in with female or will there be a slight difference in color
second ?-will there be a obvious shape or different look to the female flower that i would most likely see
third ?- from what i have read it sounds like these male flowers can come out in middle of female flowers, does it stick out past the pistils so it can be seen
fourth ?- what would normal size of the male flower be
fifth ?- is male flowers very common on most female plants or is it more of a rare occurance
I have never seen a male flower and hope not to at least for now until i get more experienced, very interested in breeding, but for now just not sure if my daily inspections are being done properly or maybe i might be missing something that might help me from getting pollinated.
one more ?, hope this is not a stupid ?say you found a male flower on your female plant does that make your plant a hermi and would that make hermi seeds if it pollinated that plant,
alot of questions, would really appreciate any help and advice for inspecting plants

Hey dude I just did A pile of reading on several sites and the general public says that a true female can put out a few last ditch effort male flowers to try to self pollinate, these male flowers are said to carry only female genes. If you pollinate a second female with those flowers they should give you femmed seeds however if you just let it pollinate itself it will only seed some of your buds but those seeds stand a good chance of being hermies. My advice is to pluck whatever "Acorns or bananas you find and hope for the best. I too have found like 4 male flowers aka acorns but after reading the "High Times" article I'm not overly concerned.

Hope this helps

They're pretty easy to spot usually. They are normally a really light green/yellow color and look like little bushels of bananas or little pods. If you see them get some tweasers and pull them out. As long as the plants aren't stressed and you have good genetics you shouldn't see them until really late in flowering if ever. A good looking over of all the buds every couple days should be enough for you to spot them and get them out if they are there.

I've seen two types of male flowers on females. The first would begin to occur on the lower branches of the plant, and they were full pollen sacs that will open up and form a big cluster of 'bananas' that spread pollen. The other type began to occur pretty much anywhere on the plant within the buds as small 'banana' shapes that would be either single bananas or pairs of 2-4 maybe. They usually starting showing around half way through flowering, and it's a pain in the ass to monitor them. Fortunately, I never got too many seeds from hermies. Good luck!

i have read about both of those types of male flowers on female, but have not seen many pics of the one that comes out of female with couple bananas, couple pics i seen of those i could not really see them very well, that was one of my concerns, before i post questions i always research first to maybe answer without asking, thanks again for help.

Ok so its getting late in the bud stage and I keep finding the odd male flower not to mention the cool air outside. I feel like I should start the harvest but the trichs are now just starting to change to amber, I was gonna wait one more week but now I don't know.

Ideas?
