Male? First time grow

Hey everyone one

well first week of flower and I think this is a male, but need confirmation before I pull from the room.

Have attached a photo close up of what I believe to be male parts :(

If so my next question is one male plant worth keeping for butter?

Another question, I have two plants in one pot, the other is yet to show any signs of sex, if the one in the pictures is a male should I just cut the plant at the base?

Thanks in advance

Clearly a boy, sorry. First pic. Balls come with their own little mini stem, calyxes don't. Definitely male.

If so, is waiting a week to make sure going to hurt considering the other plant has not shown any sign of sex?

Anyone able to answer my other questions also?

The question about the butter? No not worth it.

And no, won't hurt to leave it in another week. The ball grows first, and grows bananas in it which then produces pollen. It will take a while for that to mature and for it to pop open.

When it pops open it opens sort of like an umbrella. Then it's too late. You can also see it's a male ball because of the slightly darker green lines, which is where it cracks open. At the bottom of the following pic you can see an example of ball popped open with bananas dangling under it (those contain the pollen).

And here's the clear difference with female calyx, which is more like a slightly overlap leaf instead of the 6 or so segments the male ball is made off.

Well I guess I will have some patience and see what one more week does.

Thank you all for helping me out.. I'll share the results in a week

you will have a definite issue with 2 plants in one pot. You shouldn't do this. even after cutting at the base if there is a male you will have issues until transplanting. have you considered what you would do if both are females? They will be extremely stunted when you rip them out of each other. Will need to reveg them for quite some time.

Was definitely a male.. Was able to pull it up in time I believe.

Since pulling it out the other plant has flourished so much more since it has the pot to itself now.

And if I'm correct it's looking like a female.. I hope anyway!
