Two of my plants have much more distance between nodes than the one pictured here. I was thinking that maybe this is a female and those are males. They're random seeds though so I'm sure the difference in strands makes a big difference.

males have balls hanging by the nodes..Females have white hairs

look for the two female sex pistils to show. Idk if i'm the only one that looked at the pic and it was huge or somethin, lookied like a painting kinda. Anyway, when u see the white hairs lookin like don king its a girl. The others u speak of, distance between nodes is usually due to stretching. as far as I know, ther is no way to tell a male from a female based on how the plant grows. Gotta look for the signs, white hairs, and little green balls, which look just like seeds. U'll know.

I think it's gonna be a feeeemaaaaale

But that's just what I think .. It's still too early, watch out for little white hairs though.

i have a quick question..i have 6 plants growing..i think they are to young to determine if there male or female..but when they are done growing how to a produce all female seeds..i dont want males anymore..is it possible to create female seeds

I know you can order feminized seeds. I'm pretty sure they're not 100% but they have a much higher percentage of female plants than male.

Clone my friend... Just clone.

I actually don't know how to geta plant to produce feminised seeds, if im right it might be something to do with the plant being a hermie... but that's about all I know.

Just clone it... A lot faster, and a guaranteed female.

yea man i just read an artical on cloning..but im worried if i clone my plants they will be male...that would suck huh..did all the cloning to find out its a male..but i mean im not gonna wait to find out there sex..gonna have to take a chance

Why the hell dont you wait dude.. sexing just takes a few days... be patient.

Update us with some more pics boulder...

yea maybe i should..this is my first grow so im not expierenced..but so far my plants are really healthy..i put fruit in the soil and i feed it a combination between water miracle grow and orange juice..i heard using fruit and juice can make the bud taste like citrus..idk im just tryin it out

another thing to do is clone early on like after a month take that cutting and give it a twelve twelve cycle, that way you'll know early on if its a male of female so you don't waste all that time

ohh yea...but how does the 12 12 cycle make you determine if its male or female..i know the female has the white hair pistil and the male has puff balls

The 12/12 cycle forces the plant into thinking the days are getting shorter, which they are. When the plant senses the shorter days, and longer nights, it begins to flower, thereby showing it's sex. U'll know within about a week for sure if it's a boy or a girl after inducing flowering.

really and when can i start to make the days shorter..can you do this when ever u want..i mean clearly u cant if its like a few weeks old

I had the same problem with my plants...first grow from seeds and no idea on sex. What I did was go buy a cloning dome and cloned each plant twice. I ended up with 2 females and 2 males..so all I had to do was dump the clones of the males, and then I am left with 4 plants that are guaranteed females.

And now that I have for guaranteed females I am going to make 2 of the 4 mothers so that I can take lots of cuttings and have 8 or 10 plants every harvest.

So if you clone all you plants and they all turn out to be female you can keep the strongest and best growing clones. works great.

Also you can only get feminized seeds if you let a forced hermie impregnate a female.

Actually, yes u can do it whenever u want. That's one of the benifits from growing indoors. Alot of times, it depens on how much space u have to grow with. I don't have a lot of space to work with, so I'll switch mine to 12/12 when they're about a foot tall. Obviously, a bigger plant means more bud, but again it depends on ur space. Plan on ur plants AT LEAST doubling in size during flowering.

so your telling me that if i have a plant that is a month old it can flower..currently my plants are on a 16/8..i have school so i have to turn them off..so if i cut the light down to 12/12 they will flower..thats kinda hard to believe

lol well thats what it is....


the plant will grow taller and bigger if you give it 18+ hours of light a day

it will go into flower mode when you give it around 12 hours of light per day


that 12 hours instead of 18+ is simulating the season changing from summer to fall and the plant has to bud to produce seeds for next season
