making oil out of hash?

can you make oil out of hash? i figured it would be betterto make hash then make oil out of the hash so there was less waiste to blast with butane? thanks

Butane extraction pulls about as much out of the plant matter as possible. It seems like if you already made the hash, it could be a waste of effort for a nice, but small, increase in potency (prob end up w alot less too). Might be extra pressure in the tube too? I'm def not saying "don't try it" tho. Just some things to think about. If you decide to do it, please post the results. I would love to read a smoke report on that shit!

good points i might try it with the crap pulled from the first couple bags and see how that goes cause i really dont know what to do with that stuff. i will definitely let you know if i do.

IMO, you need a shi*load of female plant material to make a good batch of hash. (Imagine a 55 gallon barrel stuffed to the brim.) And whatever extraction fluid you use (acetate, butane, thinner, etc... ), without adequate ventilation, it's a time bomb waiting to explode.

It's not a barrel you wanna leave in the garage, and the only guys who make money on it are the commercial growers in CO/CA.

If you want hash, and you're a small grower, it's easier to let others to do the dirty work and pay what the market demands...

I'm a hoarder and can't stand to throw shi* away, so I take both male/female remnants and put them thru the extraction process, place the extract on foil and roll it to the size/consistency of a #2 pencil. Not enuff to get you stoned but, once dried, makes for an awesome stick of incense that lasts for days...

But I'm not an expert. Just a "tinkerer."
