Yeah they have all kinds of that stuff at the dispensaries... never bought any but had free samples and it sure works! It's not a trippy high at all, all stony.
I think she ment cause of the amount she was making, it would have been a few pounds in her batch.. i could see how maybe working with that amount of butter you may need gloves lol.. its soo cool that it works topically

The little candies are great too :) Just pop two hard candies in your mouth (like jolly ranchers) and you'll be baked in an hour lol.

I am in the process of getting some tincture off the ground right now myself. I did a longer process, and I have to make the high proof liquor myself because my province doesn't carry it. I did a 4 hour reflux with 14g lemmon skunk in 150ml of IPA, I had 112ml when I was finished. I boiled that off and was left with 3.5 g dark black gooey hash.

The next day I re dissolved in IPA, added 5 times more IPA and water than gooey stuff, about 5ml of each. I then added twice as much of the naptha than water, naptha seems to be a much more selective solvent. I decanted, added more, decanted, added more, decanted. Boiled off the naptha, scraped and was left with a dark glassy hash ball, only penetrable with heat, and doesn't stick to the fingers in the same way(clumps much easier). I was left with about 3g

I then added this to a 26 of canadian glacier vodka@80 proof. It only broke down half about 15 days later. I took shots from time to time, by the end still about half remained. I am going to be distilling out my own 151 and adding it to my bottle, which should finish off all the good stuff.

Peace

I use 1oz trim or 1/2oz ground bud per 400ml of 151. It goes into a blacked-out mason jar(electrical tape) and gets shaken daily for 8 weeks. The THC dissolves quickly, but the other cannabinoids take longer to break down. At the end of 8 weeks I press the material and strain through a coffee filter. I then simmer the tincture for 10-15 minutes to reduce and decarboxylize. I end up with about 300ml that is then bottled into 2 oz dropper bottles with 1 tsp honey per bottle(or it will BURN BABY BURN when you put it under your tongue). One dropper under the tongue and you're off!

**If you decide to heat the tincture, be aware that it should be done outside with good ventilation because the fumes are EXTREMELY FLAMMABLE!

WHY MAKE TINCTURES? Books About Tinctures

* Tinctures are more powerful and last longer than dried herbs.
* It is much cheaper than buying ready made herbal products. You can make about a quart of your own tincture for the price of a few ounces of tincture at retail stores.
* You can control the quality of the product you are making by starting with herbs you collect yourself or purchase through a reputable source. You are also ensured of the purity of the final product.
* You can make special combination formulas.
* There is something to be said about getting involved in your own health. Some herbalists say that you benefit by absorbing some of the herb through the skin and from the aroma.

HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN TINCTURES

THE ITEMS YOU WILL NEED:

* Dried or fresh herbs in powdered or cut form.
* 80 -100 proof vodka or rum (NEVER use rubbing, isopropyl or wood alcohol).
* Wide-mouthed glass jars with lids (mason jar or equivalent).
* Unbleached cheesecloth or muslin.
* Labels and markers.

STEP BY STEP

You should plan to start your tinctures on the day of the new moon and let them sit at least 2 weeks until the full moon - this adds a natural drawing power.

1. Pour the amount of herb you desire into the glass jar and slowly pour the alcohol until the herbs are entirely covered. Then add an inch or two of additional liquid.
2. Seal the jar tightly so that the liquid cannot leak or evaporate. Put the jar in a dark area or inside a paper bag.
3. Shake the jar every day.
4. When ready to bottle, pour the tincture through a cheesecloth into another jar or dark colored tincture bottle. Squeeze the saturated herbs, extracting the remaining liquid until no more drips appear.
5. Close the storage container with a stopper or cap and label.

ADDITIONAL TIPS ON TINCTURES

1. 200 grams dried or 300 grams of fresh herbs (chopped) to one liter of liquid is needed.
2. Rum helps hide the taste of bitter herbs.
3. Distilled water, vinegar or glycerol can be used to make nonalcoholic tinctures.
4. Standard dosage is 1 teaspoon, 1-3 times daily, diluted in tea, juice or water.
5. Tinctures can last up to two years when stored in a tightly closed container.
6. A wine press or juicer may be used to extract liquid from the herbs.
7. Several herbs can be combined into a tincture formula.
8. Experiment and have fun!
