Making fem seeds

Why do people make fem pollen and put it on the same strain plant why not use 1 female plant sprayed with collidal silver and use those seeds from the 1 female plant

...I think you're asking if people use the pollen on other plants .... They do.
Some people want to 'self' plants to preserve genetics
You can use the pollen on any fem plant but you'll get a cross of those plants genetics.
Selfing preserves the phenotypes displayed by that original plant. Then you can pheno hunt until you find something close to what you originally had

If you spray the entire plant with CS you will get a plant that has only male flowers that produce pollen. Some people spray just a couple branches and collect that pollen from those reversed branches to pollinate female flowers on the same plant. The timing with that method doesn't always work out.

Some like myself like to take 2 clones off of a plant of the strain you're making fem seeds of. Reverse one clone and pollinate the other. The plants don't have to be very big at all to end up with a couple hundred seeds or more.

If you're thinking of making your own fem seeds I highly recommend that you use STS instead of CS. It's more reliable and doesn't require daily spraying for weeks.

Selfing is the fastest way to stabilize a strain. Stable meaning true breeding, without a bunch of recessive traits lurking (homozygous alleles). If you're breeding and want to make real F1 hybrids that are uniform and vigorous you want to use two stable parents. Nobody does that because it takes time and the market is so hype driven, they just chuck the latest cut or their stud at a room full of the latest cuts. That's why I like to buy the selfed (S1) seeds, it's already selected and partially stabilized, other people want to hunt packs of possibilities (I got tons of those too.)

I'm in the planning stages of trying to make some seeds, I've 3 cloned males and I've a number of fem seeds + 1 plant i intended to cross with them.

After reading about sts/cs I'm wondering would I better using sts instead of using male plants or would using male give more genetic diversity?

If I've understood correctly it's possible to cross a female plant with itself?

I've only started looking into making seeds it's all still a bit foggy, thanks.

I'm planning on doing what you do. Does either your "male" or female get a headstart in flower to make that work?

Very good it is, i am sitting with all stuff to make the sts but just looking for a pheno out of the
