Making CB oil from isolate...

Ok ...I am good at making stuff but poor at math. I want to make cbd oil for my wife from isolate....if I have .5 grams of 99% cbd isolate, how much olive oil do I need to dissolve it in to achieve 5 or 10 mg dose when putting it in a standard size capsule? Clear as mud maybe but thanks to any help....

You have 500mg of isolate, so if you divided that into 50 doses you would get roughly 10mg in each dose. I'm not sure how much coconut oil fits in a capsule though.

And a size "0" capsule holds .68 ml. and a tsp is 4.93 ml. ... roughly 7 caps per teaspoon. sooo...1.4mg per cap. Would need to double isolate or reduce amount of oil to get a decent size cap dose.

Sounds like you've got the idea now ;). Another option would be letting her just dose the oil with a teaspoon :).

I've never tasted CBD isolate, does it have any real flavor? Its no were near the same as making cannabutter with actual plant material, that has a strong flavor. When I make canna-oil/butter I usually use concentrates, and it doesn't have that strong plant flavor. So I assumed that an isolate that was striped of all the terps and everything wouldn't taste like much.

Yes. I have no experience with it so you are most likely correct on that. Capsules are much more acceptable to dose and swallow in her case. Thanks for help and suggestions.

Ok....just about getting ready to make the oil up to fill size 0 capsules. Using numbers from the above discussion....

...If I dissolve 1 gram of 100% CBD isolate into 250 ml of oil that would get me about 336 capsules of about 2.8mg strength?

I like sublingual. I make gummy bears, let them dissolve under your tongue.

Isolate has NO flavor.

That’s true enough....I just made 3 cups of oil last week and put it in gelatin capsules. Cheap as chips as the Brits say....
