making bho with bud that isn't quite yet dry?

A buddy of mine was telling me about how much better his return is when he uses fresher bud that is a week away from being totally cured. I called bullshit. I can't see how it would help as much as i could see it not working in your favor.. to any of you waxologists out there- is he off the deep end or what?

The fresher the better IMO.

The fresher the product the more the oil will resemble it's parent strain. However, with that being said....

The dryer the better. Fresh dried material produces the best, oil in my opinion.

So, for absolute fresh.

Chop down plant, then directly break down the buds, scissor them as fine as possible. This shit is gonna take a longgg time to do right, so. Have fun.. ( this is why I dont do this anymore)
After you break down fresh buds, pack tube, place fully packed tubed, with filter on it ready to blow in your freezer.
Let that sit 24 hours on lowest freezer setting.
Take out, and blow instantly.

Repeat


Ha! Now , the more preferable way would be to find a room about 70f, naturally air dry your bud, get it dry enough to where the leaves and stems are set enough to snap.

You will need a dark room with humidity levels under 30% ... and hopefully under 2 weeks from chopping plant

Now, those are my recommended ways for obtaining the nicest smelliest oils ever. Good luck!

I would not try to speed things up with heat, unless you know what you are doing, and or take notes cause you are practicing

Pretty sure if the material is still wet it will grab chlorophyll easier as theres still moisture in it...

And the difference ins there called a concrete or a oleoresi n

We get pristine oil from fresh frozen buds by doing the extraction frozen.

Second tastiest using butane, is material with about 25% remaining water content, because it also still has the lighter monoterpenes present.

The purdiest is a dry extraction, but they have less mono and sesquiterpenes remaining to add floral flavor, so they mostly taste hashy.

Hey fade, how do you go about dropping the humidity to 15-25% on the fresh buds?

i would like to create an room where the temps range 65-70F and would also love to suck moisture out..

ive heard of making simple dehumidifiers using rock salt, or charcoal briquettes..

my drying chamber is rather very tiny. im using a box with the dimensions of about 3ft x 3ft x 3ft.. i have a computer fan acting as exhaust set to go off every hour 10 minutes.. temps range around 70F..

im am working on a very tiny scale. so i need to keep my chamber rather small..

i feel a big problem with where i live is the high humidity levels, so eventually, my buds get to about 50% and they just tdont dry out anymore :[
then exhaust fan is a new idea im trying this time around.. i will know in a few days how well its working. so far humidity levels in my chamber started off @ 80%, 2 days later, im @ 60ish..

hoping to push it alll the way down to 25%. but not sure if this will work..

please, fade, and all who know how to deal with high humidity, help :]

We cut the plant and strip off the fan leaves, before hanging upside down in our basement. When the small stems reach snap stage, we remove the buds from the stems and jar them for curing, burping regularly.

When the humidity is too high, we sometimes seal the buds in a brown paper bag and move it in and out of a warm oven to dry further.

We do that gingerly, to keep from drying the outside and leaving the inside damp, and seal them back in the jar to let the moisture equal out afterwards.

Fresh cut, speed dried, (not cured) frozen and used.

This just happens to be one of the” golden secrets” of makin really purdy oils [IMO]

The specifics are mine, my recipe...hee,hee...lol

I think I understood what you meant. Dunno wgyyyy I asked what does that mean. I think I got q decent process's for drying. Should know in a couple days.
