Making BHO on a lazy tuesday night

haha your on the right path bro.... if you wanted a half oz of bho youd have to run like a little less than a quarter lb.

yeah the oil definitely tastes fruity/grapey trainwreck(ey).. very smooth overall...


Yup.... once you run the tane into your pyrex... i put the pyrex dish into another (larger) pyrex dish with hot hot tap water in it.... this greatly speeds the process of butane evaporation... i swap the hot hot water hot 3-5 times.... once no more large/visible bubbles are forming i add another round of hot hot tap water.... you will see the surface of the oil bubbling out super tiny butane bubbles....... THEN throw it in the oven at 160-170 for 45 seconds (to get it molten) then pop some big bubbles and SCRAPE while its hot and gooey (and easy)..

scrape onto parchment paper, once everythings off your pan... back into the oven the parchment paper goes for 30 seconds.... then toss it in your container, and start pumping...... i find it works even better when you put your container into a bowl semi filled with hot hot tap water.. this keeps the oil nice and warm so all the butane comes out...


& yes, I do mine like 5 times with the vac pump... but i'm a perfectionist.. i figure if i'm going through all this trouble I might as well purge as well as I can.. some people are satisfied with 2-3 purges.... i really like 5 purges... some do like 7.... (the people REALLY into their oil)....


making bomb oil is like an obsession... its not common, you always wow people with it... you want to play with it every time you pull out a dab.... it's definitely something to be proud of..







I'd dry your trim... it will work with wet but I think youll get the best results out of dried product... you want those trichomes dry and brittle... so you can sweep them away with the butane


& yes definitely get some oil gear. I love my oil dome and ti nail... though i'm looking at vapor swings in the future. Just when you dab on hot metal or glass, and suck it up.... it's like nothing else... supppper clean, super tasty... SUPER powerful.... if you put it on weed you loose those first two qualities of FINE oil..

Sr. Verde. Do you release the vacuum pressure BEFORE you put it in the oven? Or do you cook it under pressure, then realease and repump AFTER it comes out of the oven?

i put it in the oven BREIFLY to get the oil warm....


just parchment paper and oil..... dont put your container in there!


heat up oil on parchment in oven,
take out of oven,
put in container/bowl of hot tap water
pump to 25hg for 5-10minutes...
release pressure, remove parchment paper with oil on it
repeat

yeah thats pretty much what i was thinking. ive only got a smallish bong at present, i'm worried the skillet will be a bit heavy for it. id be gutted if i smashed it through something so daft. oh well looks like a new bong is called for muawhahahahaaaaaa.

thanks munchbox, after looking at some of the globes i'm going to get a skillet i think. just deciding on a new bong for the attachment. thinking a double perc beaker bottom to give it a bit more weight.

My question is this, if the lower the micron... the better the vacuum... then why does the 6cfm pump have a lower rating? Does the 6cfm pump simply move more air, but not get to as high of a vacuum?

Now, ISO extraction? Yeh, all day my friend.. all freaking day.

ISO is FAR more of a simplistic method.. especially whenever you compare it with the BHO extraction method.

But yeah, that looks mighty good buddy. Nice.

how much bud did you use? and how much oil did you end up with?

ive only done everclear but i imagine the end result is pretty much the same as ISO?!? bho is a lot more tasty. i know you can do 30 second wash and get amber iso but ive never got enough weed to waste doing 30 sec washes saw my buddy DST do it in the dam and the stuff looked real tasty tho.

grind weed and stuff into glass tube. blast butane thru tube into pyrex dish. let dry for a week.


not really that hard at all.



all this "purge stuff" really isn't needed, if you simply let it dry while spread out thin.

agreed....i never purged mine, until a buddy found out that i wasnt purging...he then went on a big rant about how bad the butane is for me and this and that...so long story short, i went a bought one....i still purge every batch, but honestly on a side by side comparison, you cant tell any differences between the smoke...i never once tasted butane in un-purged oil...just sayin
