Making a mother out of a clone before flowering from seed, please help

Hey everyone, I'm currently in a situation in which I have this ak-47 from seed that is just thriving in veg right now; if I were to take a cutting from this ak-47 from seed to make a mother while still in veg state would this clone to be mother make good/stable clones thereafter? I can't make the ak-47 from seed the mother because I figure by the time she get's done I'll be almost out of stash so...yeah...she gotta flower a.s.a.p so that's why I'm thinking about taking a cutting while she's in veg still and make that the mother of future little ak's. This would be my first time doing the whole cutting and cloning bit so I would appreciate any thoughts anyone might have, thanks for taking your time to read this, if you did

Yeah, you can do that and it'll make fine clones.

No reason why not as long as she's big enough. I would top her and use the top as my clone. I use rapid rooters and rooting hormone powder. You can use a dome or just put some gravel in the bottom of a shallow tray. Then put in water until it just touches the bottom of the rooter. I also turn the rooters upside down. It makes for a more stable base. Hope this helps.

After a substantial baggie of nice vapors....I was thinking to take a "few" cuttings and make a mini SoG of 2x2 so 4 in total. Would that be too harsh on the grandma to then flower after taking 4 cutting from her? She's still vegging mind you.

No that's fine, you wanna give her a week or so to recuperate after taking clones before putting her into flower, though.

Should I take all four the same day or 2 one day wait a week then 2 more? Thanks for all the input btw guys.

I'm really not sure about that. I would take all four at the same time, as long as the plant is big enough to carry on after wards, of course.

I've heard people say other wise, but I don't think it's a problem taking them all at once.

May take a little longer to shake it off is all.

Yeah I figure as much. I was also thinking that a week apart for the clones could be a hassle when their flowering one week apart, doesn't make sense. I'll get her to around 30+ tops by week 3 and i'll take the cuttings then. She's tied down LST, the main stalk is almost completely horizontal. Looks like the spider thingy from Alien you know, before it converts into the giant one, the one that get's inside you and makes the baby Alien? Anywho, yeah I'll just take the 4 the same day, she'll be fine. I've had a fan fall on one of my girls before, tore off limbs and she took it in the chin and gave me a wonderful harvest bro. Kinda excited about trying the cloning thing though.

Yeah, cloning is good fun, gives you something small to look forward to once they start rooting. They seem to grow so much faster than seeds too, once they get rooted anyways. Good luck.

Thanks man. I'll be making more thread as I go along, I'll be needing all the help I can get man.

I keep a bonsi moms goin all the time and have taken many cuts from them at once ,dosen't seem to hurt um 1 bit. if u never did the clones its not that hard just intimidating at 1st, just read up and choose a style that fits u. I use chinese take out contaners 1 Qt. with a pint inside sand and perlite with a piece of clothes line rope for a wick works great at least 90% of the time. enjoy orf...

I too keep bonsai moms under a T50 4 tube 4' light, I make my 50 clones in a tray beside them and move on to flower. I use clones from clones up to about 5 times before I start seed again but I could keep going as long as mother clone is healthy.
