Making a clone from a 6 foot plant?

So long story short my property might be getting a fire marshal inspection (clean premises notice) and I have a 6 foot monster that's growing in thick clay between planters so unearthing it doesn't seem possible. Could I cut it from the bottom of the stock and dip it in rooting hormones and plant it elsewhere? I live in a legal state but your not supposed to grow outdoors technically in my area. Also I just don't feel comfortable with someone from the city seeing a big ass plant or any for that matter.

You could definitely take a cutting from it and make a clone (or multiple clones), and grow a new plant from that. However you can't just chop the whole plant and get it to regrow a complete root system to save the existing 6 ft plant.

My vote would be trying to uproot and salvage as much as you can. Working with a damaged root system seems preferable to cutting off the root ball and attempting to regrow one (if such a thing on that large a scale is even possible)

That's a good point. I could take a shit load of cuttings from it

I was thinking that as well. Probably just get a bag of cheap soil and move it into a trash can. Ultimately it's some midgrade bag seed I planted as a goof to see if it would grow with cheap dry miracle grow, this has to be the toughest strain on the planet. It's thriving in water and miracle grow and nothing else. Was planning on using it for edibles after harvest. The weed was weak as fuck but I'm not complaining because it was a 20 dollar half and worked great for making edibles.

Some trellis or lattice with fake flowers might be slick. Or just hang a couple condoms off it with a few pumps of hand soap in each, blame the nasty neighbors and claim you cant chop it down until they fall off

How close is it to the house? Could you plant any other landscaping around it quickly to hide it? Pin fake flower blooms to it to disguise it?
The problem isn't the house, it's a notice to clean the premises. Past tenants trashed it and landlord was too busy to deal with it. Also the past warnings were put in the neighbors yard so we didn't know till a few days ago. We're going to be grinding to clear the property tommorow and hopefully I can just leave it alone. Disguising it would be difficult and it's waaay too big to fit inside vertically.

Dude if you try to cut the whole plant, dip it in rooting hormone, and try to replant it, it will die. Either make a billion clones out of it or try to disguise it. If its legal where your at, I wouldnt be worried about it. If they cant easily identify it as marijuana from the properly line, its legal!

Sort of, your not supposed to have any plants that grow more than a 6 feet of any kind because it's considered a fire hazard. It's pretty obvious what it is and we got the final notice so if they come back and for whatever reason it's not up to code they can come into your property and assess it in person. Also city ordinance says outdoor growing is prohibited excluding indoors under artificial light. Lastly if you refuse to let them onto your property they can just get a warrant and then the police are involved. It's cost next to nothing to grow and it's honestly not worth having them get anyone other than a fire marshal to walk around the property and just go "you need to clean this" and leave. I can just move my other potted plants indoors and not make this a big issue. Id rather lose a plant that will produce like a pound of shwagg than escalate the situation.

If its schwag genetics its probably not worth the effort to clone it then either. By the time you get them rooted you will barely have any time if any at all left for veg before they would start flowering outside.

If I was in your shoes I would kill that one to be safe like you said. And then try to get some clones of something nice. Not sure if you can get them in your state but I would just try to buy a couple of teen plants that you can just toss into 5 gal buckets of FFOF/ewc/perlite and try to get a.few oz off each plant. That way you can have something decent to harvest in the fall.

How long till the visit. I would look at air-layering. It would be the best attempt to take that whole plant. Will take a couple weeks tho. Or take a clone of the branch and start again indoors

They'd be coming at the end of this month. Honestly after this I'm getting a the perfect sun Goliath led and a 4x4 grow tent and just keeping a few plants in my greenhouse for making feminized seeds. I got huge chunks stolen off one of my plants a few weeks ago. and I'd rather just grow indoors after this. Maybe a few autos in the greenhouse for breeding purposes but I just like indoors way better. More control over veg and flower time and it's much more secure. Also quicker harvests. The electric bill will suck but it's much better than my current situation.

It’s either chop it...try and dig the fucker up and replant (that will slow it down but most likely it will recover)...or leave it/hide it.
I would be only considering the first 2. Take a chance and try to dig that sucker up...you get like 50% of the ball and water it well it will be fine. Throw it in a big fabric pot and you can move it around.

Shit i run 1000w HPS and electric bills dont bother me at all. 75$ for an eighth of mediocre weed at the store or 75$ worth the electricity/ month. Not a difficult decision to make.

I'm getting one of the top of the line LEDs. I was considering getting 1000 watt hps for flower and cheap 600 watt for veg but I've been seeing a lot of people pulling crazy yeilds with leds and autos. I prefer photoperiod but autos are a lot more efficient as far as just doing one grow tent and harvesting every couple of months.
