To make 1 gallon of 0.028% solution of hypochlorous acid (HOCl) using 5.25% liquid sodium hypochlorite (NaClO), you will need to follow these steps:
CAUTION: Sodium Hypochlorite is dangerous to deal with in concentrated form, use glasses if you can and wear some gloves ya stoner. Treat it like some very strong pH down when handling it.
Saving you the math that makes a gallon of any of these brands ACTUALLY cost $1.25 per gallon.
- Obtain a clean, empty container that can hold at least 1 gallon of liquid.
- Measure out 78 ml of 5.25% liquid sodium hypochlorite (NaClO).
- Slowly add the sodium hypochlorite to the container, being careful not to splash it.
- Slowly add 1 gallon of distilled or purified water to the container.
- Stir the mixture until the sodium hypochlorite is fully dissolved.
- Your 0.028% solution of Hypochlorous Acid is now ready to use.
