Should have trimmed these gals up a little better...gonna have a little larf to deal with but that will go to butta or hash
Bah, I am starting to think larf is totally underrated :P
I mean, in emergency times I'll sprinkle dry leaves in my cigarettes if I find some, just for a bit of good taste... larf would be so welcome then and there - so it's all a matter of perspective? :eyesmoke:
(omg, sharing my darkest secrets here? LMAO)

But seriously, I'm tempted to download that first pic, she's soo beautiful with those 8 main colas in a circle and the canopy of upstarts in the middle!!

Also, I really bought into the "if flowers don't get sun, they won't develop" theory -- which is why I defoliated so much during veg... but I've let go of that since, I'm not really sure that is actually and 100% so anymore - I also suspect, taking out so many leaves to expose the undergrowth diverted strength towards growing new leaves instead of building strength from where they were. (also, I'd be bound to go nuts worried over the way the buds are developing in my scrog haha)
For one, I do listen to all sides of an argument, and (for example) defoliation antagonists argue that it's the leaves mainly that do photosynthesis, not the flowers -- and that's THAT that will feed the flowers in the undergrowth too.
Of course, it also just makes sense to not have growing efforts spread out over tons of spots -- and then there's the whole thing with UV light and increased trichome production to guard against it (that would, again, require direct light)...
LMAO so to come to an end of this rambling, probably the truth is somewhere in the middle of all that haha!

I say your girls are looking great just as they are!
Cheers!

I agree with most of it and to be fair i roll anythingwith trichs into a small spliff myself sometimes with a little dried peppermint added however i think its all about the even canopy, your hormonal response will trigger bigger denser buds at your top budsites and i think that and the fact that larf typically has a worse leaf to bud ratio is most peoples contention with larf in general.

That being said the "larf" on my last run was pretty minimal even with side branches never reaching the very top of the canopy, again i think its all in how the plant prioritizes everything towards the top. Im really curious to see how the manifolded canopy produces as opposed to an un-manifolded scrog like yours or my last run. I think HIDs or high power leds like cobs are probably necessary for the method im running now.
